Abstract

ABSTRACT This article reveals the contribution of skills reading comprehension text descriptions to writing skills text description grade students VII SMP Negeri Padang 12. The purpose of this research there are three. First, it describes the skills of reading comprehension text description grade VII SMP Negeri 12 field. Second, it describes the writing skills text description grade VII SMP Negeri 12 field. Third, describing the contribution of the intermediate reading comprehension text descriptions against writing skills text description grade VII SMP Negeri 12 field. This research type is quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this research is the design contribution. This research population is grade VII SMP Negeri Padang are registered on the 12th school year 2018/2019, i.e. as many as 286 students. The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, i.e. 54 students. Research data is a score test results intermediate reading comprehension text description and score the writing skills test result text description. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure the skills of reading comprehension text description and performance tests to measure the skills of writing a text description. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of reading comprehension text description grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 12 are on good qualifications (B) by the value of the average 80.09. Second, the skills of writing text descriptions grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 12 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 80.86. Third, there is a contribution of reading skills in the description of text to the skills of writing description texts of class grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 12 at 62.73%. Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis, Teks Deskripsi.

Abstract

The rapid digitalization of education demands that Indonesian language teachers strengthen their digital competencies, especially in developing L1 writing skills through innovative teaching strategies. This study examines the impact of a community-based professional development program centered on Padlet integration for Indonesian language instruction. Utilizing a convergent mixed-methods action research design, 29 senior high school teachers in Pekanbaru, Riau Province, participated in a two-day intensive training, followed by six weeks of classroom implementation and ongoing mentoring. Data were collected through pre- and post-intervention assessments using the DigCompEdu Check-in instrument, lesson plan quality rubrics, classroom observation protocols, analysis of a student writing corpus (N = 472), and semi-structured interviews. Results indicated significant improvements across all measured outcomes. Teachers achieved notable gains in digital competence (ΔM = +12.83, p < .001, d = 1.24), lesson plan quality (ΔM = +2.23, p < .01, d = 0.67), and classroom implementation. Student writing performance also improved substantially (ΔM = +8.99, p < .001, d = 0.73), with increased lexical diversity, cohesion, and collaborative engagement. Qualitative data highlighted enhanced teacher confidence, ongoing peer collaboration, and improved pedagogical practices. The findings demonstrate that community-based Padlet training effectively elevates digital competence and transforms L1 writing instruction, offering empirical support for scalable professional development models that blend digital tools with pedagogical innovation in Indonesian education.

Abstract

Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan produk berupa model kelas terbalik berbasis literasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran menulis anekdot yang layak baik dari ahli maupun pengguna. Untuk menghasil produk tersebut, penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang mencakup sepuluh tahapan penelitian. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 5 orang validator ahli, 5 orang guru, dan 105 siswa SMA di Kabupaten Bandung. Data hasil penelitian diolah secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif deskriptif.  Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan mendapatkan penilaian sangat baik berdasarkan validator ahli baik ditinjau dari indikator desain model, media pembelajaran, maupun evaluasi pembelajaran. Berdasarkan tanggapan guru sebagai pengguna, model kelas terbalik berbasis literasi digital dalam pembelajaran menulis teks anekdot berada pada kualifikasi sangat layak baik ditinjau dari indikator kemudahan, kemenarikan, kesesuaian, maupun kemanfaatan model pembelajaran.  Tanggapan siswa terhadap model yang dikembangkan juga dinilai sangat layak ditinjau dari indikator kemenarikan, kemudahan, dan kebermanfaatan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, model pembelajaran kelas terbalik berbasis literasi digital layak untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks anekdot.

Abstract

This study examines Pasambahan (Minangkabau) and Basiocuang (Kampar) as two ritual oral traditions that continue to play a vital role in shaping cultural identity and social communication within their respective communities. The research is grounded in the understanding that both forms of pantun-based expression operate as living traditions whose meanings are sustained through their social and ceremonial contexts. The purpose of this study is to compare the structural, functional, and cultural dimensions of these two traditions to explain how they reflect differing systems of social organization, values, and identity. This research employs a qualitative comparative approach, integrating structural analysis, functional analysis, and cultural contextualization. Textual data, ethnographic descriptions, and ritual examples were analyzed to identify patterns in form, diction, metaphor, communicative function, and symbolic meaning. The findings demonstrate that while Pasambahan and Basiocuangshare a common four-line quatrain structure with crossed rhyme patterns, they diverge significantly in complexity, hierarchy, and communicative purpose. Pasambahan is highly hierarchical, metaphorically dense, and closely tied to Minangkabau matrilineal social structure, whereas Basiocuang is simpler, more flexible, and reflects the egalitarian and family-centered values of the Kampar Malay community. Furthermore, both traditions serve not only as ritual media but also as markers of cultural identity, embodying local cosmology, values, and social relationships. The discussion highlights that these differences are rooted in historical interactions, divergent social systems, and cultural adaptations. The study concludes that Pasambahan and Basiocuang are dynamic oral traditions whose preservation requires contextual, intergenerational, and culturally grounded strategies. Their comparative study enriches the field of oral literature and contributes to broader efforts to safeguard Indonesia’s intangible cultural heritage.
