Abstract

Intense industry competition compels companies to shift their management orientation from a purely technical-operational focus to a human-centric approach in order to optimize organizational performance. This study aims to analyze and test the influence of Leadership, Employee Engagement, and Internal Communication on Employee Performance—both directly and indirectly through Work Motivation as an intervening variable—at PT. Indokom Citra Persada Situbondo. A quantitative research approach was employed. The study population comprised all employees of PT. Indokom Citra Persada Situbondo, with the sample determined using a non-probability sampling technique—specifically, total sampling (or a saturated sample). Primary data were collected via structured questionnaires utilizing a Likert scale. Data analysis and hypothesis testing were conducted using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS software. The results of the direct effect hypothesis tests, performed using SmartPLS 3.0, indicate that Leadership, Employee Engagement, and Internal Communication all have a significant positive effect on Work Motivation; similarly, Leadership, Employee Engagement, Internal Communication, and Work Motivation all have a significant positive effect on Employee Performance. Furthermore, the indirect effects of Leadership, Employee Engagement, and Internal Communication on Employee Performance—mediated by Work Motivation—were also found to be significantly positive.
