Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether the science and social studies (IPAS) learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 61 Lubuk Linggau significantly achieved the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) after the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Puzzle media. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-test–post-test design. The research population consisted of 17 students from Class V.A of SD Negeri 61 Lubuk Linggau, selected using a random sampling technique. Data were collected through a multiple-choice test consisting of 15 items administered before the treatment (pre-test) and after the treatment (post-test), as well as through documentation. The research instrument was tested for validity, reliability, discrimination index, and item difficulty level. Data were analyzed using the normality test and hypothesis testing (t-test). The results showed that the students' mean learning outcome increased from 49.41 in the pre-test to 86.88 in the post-test. The hypothesis testing revealed that the calculated t-value (6.02) was higher than the critical t-value (1.74) at the 5% significance level, indicating that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Puzzle media significantly improved the IPAS learning outcomes of the fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 61 Lubuk Linggau, enabling them to achieve the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP).
