Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation and feasibility of SNI CHSE 9042:2021 at YATS Colony Hotel Yogyakarta and to identify management strategies for optimizing its implementation. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through direct observation using the SNI 9042:2021 Appendix C checklist, in-depth interviews with four purposively selected informants consisting of the Hotel Manager, Human Resources representative, Front Office staff, and Housekeeping staff, as well as documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification, while data credibility was strengthened through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that SNI CHSE principles have been integrated into the hotel's daily operations through policies and procedures, sanitation facilities, employee readiness, emergency preparedness, environmental management, and guest participation. The feasibility assessment shows that all applicable indicators in the four dimensions Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability were fulfilled, with an overall achievement of 100%. Several pandemic-specific indicators were classified as Not Applicable and therefore did not affect the assessment. Management optimization strategies include twice-weekly briefings and evaluations, employee training, coordination with health, police, and fire-service institutions, guest education through signage, and continuous monitoring. The study concludes that SNI CHSE 9042:2021 implementation at YATS Colony Hotel Yogyakarta is feasible and should be maintained through continuous improvement.
