Abstract

Background: Globally, preeclampsia remains on of the leading causes of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Early identification of pregnancies at risk is essential to reduce adverse maternal and fetal outcomes. The HDP-Gestosis Score was designed as a simple screening approach for gestational hypertensive conditions, relying on basic clinical indicators that are easy to assess. The HDP-Gestosis Score is most valuable as a screening and risk-stratification tool. Its greatest benefit lies in identifying women who require enhanced monitoring and preventive management before the onset of overt hypertensive disease. bjective: The predictive performance of this clinical scoring approach was assessed among pregnant women receiving obstetric care at a tertiary referral hospital, during 2023-2024. Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study using total sampling analyzed 230 medical records from a tertiary referral hospital during 2023-2024. Diagnostic performance was assessed using ROC analysis and logistic regression. Results: An HDP–Gestosis Score of ≥3 provided optimal discrimination (AUC = 0.936), with 100% sensitivity, 94.9% specificity, PPV of 90.1%, NPV of 100%, and 96.5% accuracy. Logistic regression confirmed a strong and significant association with preeclampsia (OR = 11.31; p < 0.001). Conclusion: This screening method demonstrates encouraging potential for early detection of preeclampsia; however, confirmation through large-scale prospective multicenter research remains essential.
