<![CDATA[This research is motivated by the fact that learning is still teacher-centered and stuck on the lecture method, which causes low student understanding of concepts in science subjects in grade III at SDN 07 Gurun Laweh, Nanggalo district, Padang city. This study aims to find out the improvement in students' concept understanding after implementing the Take and Give learning model in science subjects. The type of research used is classroom action research with both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The research instruments include observation sheets, modules, and test questions to measure students' concept understanding. According to Kemmis, there are 2 cycles in classroom action research, with observations conducted during the learning process to collect data. From the observation, the module in cycle I meeting I reached 89% and was improved in cycle I meeting II to 92%, then increased in cycle II to 96%. The student aspect in cycle I, meeting I reached 81%, and improvements were made in cycle I, meeting II at 90%, then increased in cycle II to 96.88%. Students' understanding in cycle I, meeting I reached 60%, and after improvements in cycle I, meeting II it reached 78%. Then it increased in cycle II to 91%. And the achievement of concept understanding indicators in cycle I, meeting I was 81% and in cycle I, meeting II 86.52%, then increased in cycle II to 88%. The research results show that the implementation of the Take and Give learning model can improve students' conceptual understanding in the science lessons of third-grade students at SDN 07 Gurun Laweh, Padang City.]]>
