Abstract

This study examines associations of workload and occupational stress with nurse productivity at a hospital in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. A cross-sectional survey of 139 nurses was analyzed using PLS-SEM. Workload (β = .330; t = 4.660) and occupational stress (β = .363; t = 5.869) were positively associated with self-reported productivity, explaining 31.8% of its variance. However, all AVE values were below .50. The counterintuitive coefficients are therefore interpreted as exploratory associations that may reflect adaptive effort, item coding, or common-method effects rather than beneficial consequences of work pressure.
