General Background: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic condition characterized by hyperglycemia and associated with disturbances in lipid metabolism. Specific Background: Red ginger (Zingiber officinale var. rubrum) and coriander seeds (Coriandrum sativum L.) are herbal materials containing bioactive compounds associated with lipid metabolism and traditionally used for health purposes. Knowledge Gap: The article addresses the response of cholesterol and triglyceride levels to red ginger and coriander seed extracts under diabetic conditions in experimental animals. Aims: This study aimed to determine the changes in cholesterol and triglyceride levels following administration of red ginger and coriander seed extracts in alloxan-induced male Wistar rats. Results: A pretest-posttest control group design was applied to 25 male Wistar rats divided into five groups. The treatment groups received red ginger extract, coriander seed extract, or a 1:1 combination for 14 days after alloxan induction. Cholesterol analysis showed a significant difference between groups before and after extract administration (p = 0.000), while triglyceride analysis also showed a significant difference (p = 0.023). Novelty: The study examines red ginger extract, coriander seed extract, and their combination within the same experimental design under diabetic conditions. Implications: The findings indicate that these extracts were associated with decreased cholesterol and triglyceride levels in diabetic-condition rats and provide experimental data supporting further investigation of these herbal preparations. Key Findings Highlights Cholesterol levels decreased after administration of the herbal extracts, with a significant pretest-posttest difference (p = 0.000). Triglyceride levels decreased across the treatment groups, with a significant pretest-posttest difference (p = 0.023). Red ginger, coriander seed, and their 1:1 combination were examined in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. Keywords : Diabetes Mellitus, Red Ginger Extract, Coriander Seeds, Cholesterol, Triglycerides
