Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the legal resolution process for violations of the professional code of ethics committed by members of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and to identify and analyze factors hindering legal resolution of violations of the professional code of ethics committed by members of the Polri. This study recommends that Polri members better adhere to and properly implement the professional code of ethics, given that they are state security forces. Furthermore, increased performance monitoring and guidance are needed for all Polri members to ensure they behave in accordance with the professional code of ethics. The government is also expected to revise articles that have the potential to cause problems and inconsistencies in Polri Regulation (Perpol) Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Polri Code of Ethics Commission. The regulation should be drafted in detail and with clear guidelines to anticipate violations and lawsuits during its implementation.
