Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students in Science and Social Studies (IPAS). The study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational research design. The sample consisted of 30 fourth-grade students in Class IV A at SD Negeri 101886 Kiri Hilir, selected using total sampling. The research instruments included a learning outcomes test, questionnaire, observation, and documentation. Data analysis involved the normality test, correlation test, and hypothesis testing using a t-test. The results showed that the Discovery Learning model had a positive and significant effect on students’ learning outcomes. This was demonstrated by a correlation coefficient of 0.642, which was categorized as strong. Furthermore, the t-test results showed that the calculated t-value of 4.436 was greater than the critical t-value of 2.042, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (H?) was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning model had a positive and significant effect on the IPAS learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students.
