The Effect of Using Quizizz on the Learning Motivation of Eighth-Grade Students at SMP Negeri 5 Tinambung Ridha, M. Rusydi; Darwis; Badaruddin, Sukri

Abstract

This study employed a quantitative research method with a causal approach aimed at: (1) determining the level of Quizizz usage among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Tinambung, (2) determining the level of learning motivation among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Tinambung, and (3) determining whether the use of Quizizz affects the learning motivation of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Tinambung. The population of this study consisted of 75 eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Tinambung, with all 75 students selected as respondents using a saturated sampling technique. The results showed that: (1) the use of Quizizz in the learning process was categorized as high, with a mean questionnaire score of 2.99; (2) the students' learning motivation was also categorized as high, with a mean questionnaire score of 3.00; and (3) the findings indicated that the use of Quizizz had a positive and significant effect on the learning motivation of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Tinambung. The R Square value of 0.124 indicates that the use of Quizizz contributed 12.4% to students' learning motivation, while the remaining 87.6% was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. Therefore, the use of Quizizz can create a more interactive, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment, thereby enhancing students' learning motivation
