Abstract

Literacy culture is associated with reading and writing skills. To foster a culture of literacy, prospective elementary school teachers need to have a culture of literacy first. This study aims to describe the method used by lecturers in developing literacy culture for prospective elementary school teachers at Catholic University of Musi Charitas Palembang. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. The results showed that prospective primary school teachers at the Catholic University of Musi Charitas Palembang were given the opportunity to obtain information from various sources. PGSD lecturers provide a real example in literacy culture with the habit of reading and writing. In addition, learning activities are implemented with a model of discussion and assignment in the form of paper writing also facilitating the need to obtain information from various sources through reading and writing activities. The things stated above become a strategy for developing literacy culture for prospective elementary school teachers carried out by UKMC PGSD lecturers

Abstract

Learning Indonesian in elementary schools is carried out with attention to language skills. The four language skills are listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. In practice, listening skills become skills that are rarely trained and / or implemented in an inappropriate way. This is caused by various things. One of them is listening learning carried out with material used for listening learning derived from textbooks published by certain publishers. Thus, the material may not accommodate local wisdom. This research is part of the development research carried out in stages. This research is the second stage of the five planned stages. At this stage, the research is carried out until the revision stage of the expert validation results. This article only discusses the results of expert validation in the material development section. The results showed that the learning material developed did not fully accommodate local wisdom. The validator gives advice relating to the content of material that can be developed in order to raise local wisdom and remain in accordance with the basic competencies used.

Abstract

Pada pembelajaran bahasa, empat keterampilan bahasa (menyimak, berbicara, membaca, dan menulis) pada dasarnya dilatihkan dan dikembangkan. Namun, dengan berbagai kendala, keterampilan menyimak masih kurang diperhatikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pemahaman guru sekolah dasar di bawah naungan Yayasan Xaverius Palembang berkaitan dengan pelaksanaan pembelajaran menyimak. Penelitian ini dilakukan di enam sekolah di bawah naungan Yayasan Xaverius Palembang dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian yang melibatkan 11 responden guru kelas I ini menunjukkan hasil guru yang diteliti belum melaksanakan pembelajaran menyimak secara tepat. Ketidaktepatan tersebut berhubungan dengan bahan ajar menyimak yang digunakan, teknik pembelajaran menyimak, dan evaluasi menyimak.
