Abstract

Fatih Barokah, a small-scale salted egg enterprise in Sanarejo Village, Turen District, Malang Regency, faces challenges in the mixing process of salted egg ingredients, which is still performed manually. This process requires approximately 120 minutes for each mixing cycle, demands considerable operator effort, and may result in inconsistent mixture homogeneity. This community service activity aimed to implement an automated salted egg ingredient mixing machine to improve production efficiency and strengthen the partner’s capacity to utilize appropriate production technology. The method employed was Knowledge and Technology Diffusion (Difusi Ipteks) through a participatory approach involving coordination, field observation, machine design and assembly, training, equipment handover, mentoring, and evaluation. The developed machine uses an electric motor as the driving mechanism and a WeMos D1 Mini-based control system equipped with a 16×2 LCD, push buttons, relay, and buzzer. The implementation results showed that the mixing time was reduced from 120 minutes to 60 minutes, representing a 50% improvement in time efficiency. The mixture was also observed to be more homogeneous than that produced through manual mixing. Timer testing resulted in an average error of 3.92%, indicating that the control system was able to regulate the mixing process automatically and consistently. The activity also improved the partner’s ability to operate and perform basic maintenance of the machine.
