Abstract

This research is meant to identify the critical thinking of X grade students of Science-class in SMAK Santo Albertus, Malang. Data of this research is collected from students test result related to critical thinking test as well as the result of interview done by the researcher with the teacher and students. Data analysis will be done after the treatment and all data are collected. Data analysis technique used in this research is flow model which includes data reduction, data presentation, conclusion and verification. Identification result of students’ critical thinking of X grade in Science-6 class of SMAK Santo Albertus Malang shows that there are three levels in critical thinking, namely ; students with Thinking level of “Critical”, students with thinking level of “less critical”, and students with thinking level of “Not critical”. The result of this research provides information for teachers related to students’ critical thinking, therefore, this research can give some reflection for the teacher in designing the next Mathematics teaching activities and help teacher in designing standard teaching development which improves students’ critical thinking.  Matematika merupakan mata pelajaran yang sangat memerlukan berpikir kritis dalam proses belajar siswa. Siswa perlu berpikir kritis untuk memikirkan dan memahami masalah dari berbagai sudut pandang. Sehigga berpikir kritis bukan sekedar proses menghafal, melainkan suatu proses yang dapat mengubah pola berpikir seseorang secara kritis dalam menghadapi suatu masalah. Mengingat pentingnya berpikir kritis, maka dalam penelitian akan di identifikasi berpikir kritis  siswa  kelas  X  IPA-6  SMAK  Santo  Albertus  Malang.  Data  dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil pekerjaan siswa terkait tes berpikir kritis serta hasil wawancara peneliti dengan guru dan siswa. Analisis data akan dilakukan setelah pemberian tindakan dan semua data terkumpul. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah model alir (flow model) yang meliputi kegiatan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil identifikasi berpikir kritis siswa kelas X IPA-6 SMAK Santo Albertus Malang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga tingkatan dalam berpikir kritis, yaitu siswa dengan tingkatan berpikir “kritis”, siswa dengan tingkatan berpikir “kurang kritis”, dan siswa dengan tingkatan berpikir “tidak kritis”. Hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan informasi kepada guru mengenai berpikir kritis siswa, sehingga penelitian ini dapat menjadi bahan refleksi bagi guru dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajaran matematika selanjutnya  dan membantu guru dalam menetapkan tolak ukur pengembangan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Abstract: The science and technology program for export products (IbPE) is focused on two industrial activities, namely: (1) production activity in UKM Bomantara Art (UKM 1); and (2) UKM Sade Universal Art (UKM 2) located in Pacitan City East Java. Problems experienced by both UKM are: (1) regarding the need for supporting machines to make products more ergonomic, precision and symmetry; (2) on the improvement of Security, Health and Safety (K3); and (3) improvement of management pattern of product marketing management, human resource management and financial management and management which need to be improved by its standard and quality. The objective of this collaborative science and technology program is to scale up production through engineering, manufacturing, and improve the quality of UKM production and improve the pattern of marketing management, human resources and financial management. The results of IbPE program in the third year is the procurement of supporting machines for UKM Partners namely: (1) waste production elimination machine / device; (2) internet facility and catalog; and (3) procurement of product websites.Keywords: creative industry, surf board, woodAbstrak: Program iptek bagi Produk Ekspor (IbPE) ini difokuskan pada dua tempat kegiatan industri, yaitu: (1) kegiatan produksi di UKM Bomantara Art (UKM 1); dan (2) UKM Sade Universal Art (UKM 2) yang terletak di Kota Pacitan Jawa Timur. Permasalahan yang dialami kedua UKM tersebut adalah: (1) mengenai kebutuhan akan mesin pendukung agar produk lebih ergonomis, presisi dan simetri; (2) mengenai peningkatan Keamanan, Kesehatan, dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3); dan (3) peningkatan pola manajemen baik manajemen pemasaran produk, manajemen sumber daya manusia serta manajemen dan pengelolaan keuangan yang perlu ditingkatkan standar dan kualitasnya. Tujuan dari program iptek kerjasama ini adalah untuk meningkatkan skala produksi melalui rekayasa, manufaktur, dan meningkatan kualitas produksi UKM tersebut serta memperbaiki pola manajemen pemasaran, sumberdaya manusia serta pengelolaan keuangan. Abstract

Multiple representations have an essential role in the mathematics learning process for the students, pre-service and in-service teachers. It is important for them to understand the concept of mathematics and mathematical problem solving particularly in word problem-solving. However, pre-service teacher and in-service do not fully notice of using a variety of representations in the learning process. Thus, the purposes of this study are intended (1)  to find out the type of multiple representations used by pre-service teachers to solve the word problem by their own,  and (2) to figure out how they teach the process of word problem solving to the students. The participants of this research were the sixth-semester students of the Mathematics Education Program. Their written responses were analyzed and interviewed (semi-structured interview). The result showed that the types of multiple representations used by pre-service teachers are symbolic and verbal representations. Different multiple representations are used to help the student in word problem solving, even though pre-service teachers did not fully aware to apply them in their teaching activity. Hence, sharing the knowledge and the usage of multiple representations for pre-service mathematics teachers are urgently required in the real classroom setting.

Abstract

Abstract: Describing the level of creative thinking ability of elementary school students with field independent cognitive style in solving open ended questions is the goal of this study. The indicators used to observe the level of creative thinking ability, namely, fluency, flexibility, and originality are divided into five levels, but findings in the field there are only three levels, namely tbk1, tbk3, and tbk4 . The subjects in this study were 3 grade vb students of sd islam mohamad hatta who had a field independent cognitive style with a classification of high, medium and low mathematical abilities. In this study, data were obtained by means of the group embedded figures test (geft), open-ended questions, and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the level of creative thinking that can be identified, namely fd students with high mathematical abilities meet the indicators of creative thinking aspects of fluency, flexibility and novelty so that they are included in the very creative category (tbk4), fd students with moderate mathematical abilities meet the indicators of creative thinking aspects of fluency and flexibility but does not meet the novelty aspect so that it is declared creative (tbk 3) and fd students with low math abilities are only able to meet the fluency aspect so they are declared less creative (tbk 1).Abstrak: Mendeskripsikan tingkat kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SD yang bergaya kognitif field independent dalam menyelesaikan soal open ended merupakan tujuan dari penelitian ini. Indikator yang di gunakan untuk mengamati tingkat kemampuan berpikir kreatif, yaitu,  fluency (kelancaran), fleksibility (keluwesan), dan originality (kebaruan) dibagi menjadi lima tingkatan, namun temuan di lapangan hanya terdapat tiga tingkatan yaitu TBK1, TBK3, dan TBK4. Subjek pada penelitian ini merupakan tiga siswa kelas Vb SD Islam Mohamaad Hatta  yang memiliki gaya kognitif field independent dengan klasifikasi kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Pada penelitian ini data di peroleh dengan tes Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT), tes soal open ended, serta wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat berpikir kreatif yang dapat diidentifikasi yaitu siswa FD berkemampuan matematika tinggi memenuhi indikator berpikir kreatif aspek kelancaran, keluwesan dan kebaruan sehingga termasuk dalam kategori sangat kreatif (TBK4), siswa FD dengan kemampuan matematika sedang memenuhi indikator berpikir kreatif aspek kelancaran dan keluwesan namun tidak memenuhi aspek kebaruan sehingga dinyatakan kreatif (TBK 3) dan siswa FD berkemampuan matematika rendah hanya mampu memenuhi aspek kelancaran saja sehingga dinyatakan kurang kreatif (TBK 1).

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the profile of online learning students’ written mathematical communication in solving problems about curved three dimensional objects. The problem given is a contextual problem and delivered online to 2 students in Bimbingan Belajar Gracia in 9th grade. The indicator is adapted from previous researchs and is using QCAI criteria. The result shows that one of two students is able to respond clearly and state verbal sentence to mathematical expresion. Both students are less able to communicate their mathematical thinking to others and haven’t been able to give argumentation to support their answer.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil komunikasi matematis tulis siswa pembelajaran daring dalam memecahkan masalah bangun ruang sisi lengkung. Masalah yang diberikan merupakan soal cerita kontekstual yang terdiri dari satu butir soal dan diberikan secara daring kepada 2 siswa les daring kelas IX Bimbingan Belajar Gracia. Indikator yang dipakai merupakan adaptasi dari beberapa indikator dari penelitian terdahulu dan menggunakan kriteria QCAI. Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan satu dari dua siswa sudah dapat merespon dengan jelas dan menyatakan kalimat biasa menjadi kalimat matematika. Kedua siswa kurang dapat mengkomunikasikan gagasan secara efektif kepada orang lain, serta kedua siswa belum dapat memberikan argumen pendukung jawaban.

Abstract

This research is a research and development that aims to develop learning tools such as student worksheets (LKS) and lesson plans (RPP) on the circles equation. The approach used is scientific approach with the help of Geogebra.The development is done by following 4D models of development that is only done 3 phases: define, design and development without doing disseminate phase. The quality of development products are Valid, Practical and effective. The validation is done by two validators and after validated the products were tested in the classroom to determine it’s practicality and effectiveness level. The subject of this reasearch were the two validators and 22 students of 11th grade senior high school.Keywords: circles equation, scientific approach, geogebra, learning tools

Abstract

The aim of the development is to describe a valid, practical and effective process and the result of the development of Kotak Barisan game used in "Series and Sequence" apperception activity for enhancing the tenth grade students’ motivation. Development model that is used is Plomp model consisting of three stages, which are preliminary research, prototyping phase, and assessment phase. The result is, based on the analysis, the validity reaches 80,5% belonging to level of valid. Three-instrument practicality test shows that the game belongs to the level of practice. Then, comparing the result of effectivity test, the number of motivated students increase for 4 students compared to prior to do the test. Hence, Kotak Barisan game enhances motivation effectively.

Abstract

This research is intended to develop a valid, practical, and effective mathematical learning device based on a scientific approach to improve students' reasoning on the opportunity material in class XII SMA. The development model used in this research is the Dick and Carey model. Learning tools developed in the form of lesson plans and worksheets. RPP and worksheets are prepared by referring to the scientific approach which contains 5M (observing, asking questions, gathering information, reasoning, communicating). The worksheets that are compiled also contain the steps of the Polya's model of reasoning, namely: 1) observation of a problem, 2) formulation of allegations of the problem, 3) generalization, and 4) verification of allegations using new problems. This research has produced learning tools that are valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

One of the most important aspects of mathematic learning is mathematical problem solving. The importance of mathematical problem solving in Indonesia is reflected in the graduate competency standards of curriculum. The competence underlined awareness and control over cognitive process in solving a problem often called as metacognition. This research titled “students’ introvert learning style metacognitive in solving mathematical problems” aimed to describe introvert students’ metacognitive ability to solve problem, as a variant of learning styles. This is a qualitative research with introvert learning style students as the subject. The research concludes that students with introvert learning style have used high level metacognition in solving mathematical problem.

Abstract

Error is a deviation from the correct algorithm. Every student has the possibility of making mistakes in working onproblem solving problems, both fact errors, concept errors and procedural errors. Mistakes made by students can beused as a reference in knowing the difficulties they experienced. Identifying the results of students' solving in solvingproblems solving problems is one of the efforts to help students who experience errors. The purpose of this study is toidentify and describe students' mistakes in solving circle problems. The research instrument used was a test. The subjectsof this study were 33 students of eighth grade 1 Prambon Junior High School. Based on the identification of students'answers that work on problem solving there are three types of mistakes made which include factual errors, concepterrors and procedural errors.
