Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the principal's leadership, religious organizational culture, and motivation on teachers' performance, with teacher professionalism serving as an intervening variable at MAN 3 Langkat. This research employed a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The population consisted of all 70 teachers at MAN 3 Langkat. A saturated sampling (census) technique was applied, in which the entire population was used as the research sample. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results indicate that the principal's leadership has no significant effect on either teachers' performance or teacher professionalism. Religious organizational culture has no significant effect on teachers' performance but has a positive and significant effect on teacher professionalism. Motivation has a positive and significant effect on both teachers' performance and teacher professionalism. Furthermore, teacher professionalism has a positive and significant effect on teachers' performance. The indirect effect analysis reveals that teacher professionalism is unable to mediate the effects of the principal's leadership, religious organizational culture, and motivation on teachers' performance. The coefficient of determination (R²) shows that teacher professionalism is explained by the exogenous variables by 93.9%, while teachers' performance is explained by 84.5%, indicating that the proposed research model has strong explanatory power.
