Abstract

Ginger is one of the natural products in Padukuhan Wirik, Umbulrejo Village, Ponjong District, Gunungkidul Regency, which is widely grown in family medicinal plants. This training activity aims to provide new ideas for the community to do business and build MSMEs. In addition, this activity is also intended to increase the utilization of ginger into a more value-added and marketable product, namely ginger syrup. The method used was explaining the material, making ginger syrup, and discussing the question and answer. The audience of this activity was 35 PKK women in Wirik hamlet. This training activity succeeded in increasing the knowledge and skills of PKK women in processing ginger into syrup. The results of empowerment found that participants actively asked questions and practised the process of making ginger syrup. In line with the program, the PKK women of Wirik hamlet are interested in implementing the business idea of utilizing ginger in ginger syrup products to improve the family economy.

Abstract

Sanggrahan Village, which was determined as the location for the Community Service Program for group 7 (seven), has a lot of natural potential. One of the vast potentials are coconut trees. Briquettes are materials that can be used as fuel to ignite and maintain flame. Coconut shell waste is one of the materials we used as the raw material of our project, which then will be made into briquettes. The making of briquettes from coconut shell waste was carried out on December 28, 2022, at the Sanggrahan Village Hall. Based on the practices in the training work program for making briquettes from coconut shells, the result of the burned briquettes can burn entirely over a long period. The texture of the dough should be smooth and dry because if the dough is too wet, it will be difficult for the briquettes to dry and harden, while a dough that is too dry will make the briquettes hard to intertwine and break easily when hit by a hard object. The effort to develop and manage briquettes that Sanggrahan Village can carry out is marketing the briquettes they have produced with a broader market.

Abstract

SD Negeri 3 Bareng Lor Klaten is an elementary school located in the North Klaten area. Adequate facilities are needed in presenting the right learning facilities for students. The right resources will help in the teaching and learning process in an institution, especially in school units. One of the resources to be aware of is the "Teacher" itself. The quality of a teacher will greatly affect the quality of teaching and learning in a school. Fun and capable teachers will be able to increase students' interest in participating in learning at school. The ability of a teacher to analyze students is very necessary in the teaching and learning process. One of the tools that can be used is to use Microsoft Excel in analyzing statistically about student data or school data. Microsoft Excel is a program or application that is part of the Microsoft Office installation package, functioning to process numbers using a spreadsheet consisting of rows and columns to execute commands. One of the benefits that can be utilized by teachers from SD Negeri 03 Bareng Lor Klaten schools when gaining knowledge about advance excel is that it can provide interesting visualizations for teachers and students at school. Based on the above conditions, a Microsoft excel training is needed which is intended for teachers who are at SD Negeri 3 Bareng Lor Klaten. The expected goal is that teachers can have more mastery with the use of Microsoft excel so that they can provide more attractive visual exposure to students or parents. The methods used in the training are face-to-face methods, interviews, and discussions. The material given during the training is an introduction to excel, data management, creating tables and graphs, exercises of basic formulas and formulas, filtering and sorting data. Microsoft Excel training for teachers at SD Negeri 3 Bareng Lor Klaten can be carried out properly.

Abstract

Padukuhan Kabrokan Kulon is an Padukuhan located in Sendangsari Village, Pajangan District, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Padukuhan Kabrokan Kulon has a lot of potential in the field of tourism objects and natural resources. One of the potentials in the field of natural resources is palm sugar SMEs. However, due to limitations in communication, technology, access to information, and funds, the potential of the Kabrokan Kulon Padukuhan, especially the Java sugar MSMEs, is not being utilized to its full potential. Therefore, there is a need for empowerment through educational activities about packaging design for Javanese sugar SMEs, socialization of simple bookkeeping, and also empowering Javanese sugar SMEs through branding communication to Javanese sugar SMEs in Padukuhan Kabrokan Kulon. So that from the results of data collection, the servant chose the potential of natural resources in Padukuhan Kabrokan Kulon, namely Javanese sugar SMEs which were made and discussed in village potential, moodboards, packaging from besek, videos on the potential of Javanese sugar villages and simple bookkeeping. From the results of the video, it is hoped that it will be useful and the village's efforts to maximize village potential.

Abstract

The Sapuangin Merapi area, Klaten Regency is a buffer village. The Sapuangin area is under the supervision of the Mount Merapi National Park Office. The Sapuangin area includes the Tegalmulyo Village area, Kemalang District, Klaten Regency. Tegalmulyo Village is located close to Mount Merapi, so this village has good natural resources, fertile soil and cool air. Local village people plant roses in fields. Every day, roses are harvested with a yield of 50 kg. Roses are sold to collectors every day. The price of roses sold is adjusted to the price of roses on the market on that day. The price of roses can change at any time according to market mechanisms. In certain months it is related to the tradition of visiting graves. The price of roses can be very high due to high demand. On the other hand, in normal months the market demand for roses is very low, while the rose harvest remains abundant, so the price of roses becomes very cheap, and sellers find it difficult to market them. To increase/maintain the economic value of roses, the Atma Jaya Yogyakarta University (UAJY) community service team provide training and provide equipment for processing rose flowers into rose water. Processing rose flowers into rose water uses a distillation process. The UAJY Faculty of Industrial Technology community service team designed the distillation equipment. The result of distilling rose water has many benefits and higher economic value, so it can increase the income of local people when the price of roses is cheap.

Abstract

Salah satu aspek penting dalam kehidupan manusia untuk mendapatkan kehidupan yang lebih baik ialah pendidikan. Pada jenjang pendidikan dasar, menengah dan atas, salah satu pelajaran yang diyakini sebagai cabang ilmu yang penting ialah matematika. Namun, seringkali pelajaran matematika membutuhkan usaha yang lebih banyak untuk dipelajari oleh beberapa anak. Maka, paroki Santo Mikael Pangkalan TNI AU Adisutjipto dan tim pengabdian masyarakat dari TI UAJY bekerja sama menyelenggarakan kegiatan pendampingan belajar mata pelajaran Matematika untuk siswa SD hingga SMA agar para siswa menjadi lebih paham dan semangat dalam belajar matematika. Adapun kegiatan dirancang dengan diskusi dan pengajaran langsung setiap minggunya dengan durasi 2 jam dan total 8 kali pertemuan. Tim mengawali 5 pertemuan awal dengan metode pengajaran konvensional sesuai kebutuhan siswa akan tugas dan materi yang belum dimengerti. Selanjutnya, 3 pertemuan terakhir diisi dengan metode pengajaran menggunakan penerapan konsep gamifikasi dengan platform Quizizz, dimana siswa diajak untuk secara bersama-sama menjawab soal yang berkesinambungan dan melibatkan semua kelas. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pada bagian awal pengajaran konvensional, siswa terlihat aktif dalam bertanya dan berdiskusi dengan siswa lain yang berbeda sekolah. Sementara pada bagian penerapan gamifikasi, siswa terlihat semakin antusias dalam menjawab pertanyaan dan bahkan mencoba mengerjakan soal yang lebih advanced. Melalui gamifikasi, siswa secara efektif mampu untuk me-recall apa yang sudah dipelajari selama pertemuan yang lalu.

Abstract

This research is about the observation of workers transporting sacks in a traditional market. The worker complained about pain in many body parts like the shoulders, waist, and arms, which are presented in the results of the Nordic Body Map questionnaire. This problem can be solved by massaging the body section to reduce musculoskeletal disorders. Because it is often get massaged, it makes the completion time of sack transport become longer. Work posture must be improved because too much pain piles up over long periods and can impact condition health and decrease productivity. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the working posture while doing manual handling. Evaluate work posture using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Manual Handling Assessment Chart (MAC Tool). As a result, work posture and manual handling have a higher level of risk of injury, so we need to investigate and implement change. The level of risk must be reduced to at least medium risk. Using auxiliaries can improve work posture, reduce health risks, reduce load sacks, and increase work productivity. The recommended outcome is adding a skid box to improve the value of REBA and manual material handling by providing a hand trolley cart.

Abstract

Fulfillment of orders for a product in the lathe industry often misses the processing deadline because the production process time is not well measured. One of the products produced by a lathe is crimping, this product often takes a long production process until 23.80 working hours. The purpose of this research is to identify the problems that cause the standard time for the crimping process to be high and provide the best solution for companies to reduce the standard time for the crimping production process. This research method uses the Design Thinking Process (DTP) which is divided into 5 stages, including Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test also called the EDIPT stage. The application of the EDIPT method also uses several methods or improvement tools. The improvements that have been made by the company are from the causes of methods, humans, and the environment. This research has resulted in a decrease in the standard time for the crimping process which originally obtained a processing time in 1 product of 1,428 minutes, while the standard time for the implementation of improvements was 1,375 minutes, so this research has succeeded in reducing the standard time in the crimping production process or reducing CSF by 3.71%.
