Abstract

Systematic monitoring is needed to support sustainable environmental management of land cover changes in Cisolok District, Sukabumi Regency. This study aims to analyze the level of conformity between the results of Landsat 8 image interpretation and real conditions in the field, and to understand the ability to interpret land use objects in the Cisolok District, Sukabumi Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method to classify land cover, and direct observation to test the level of image accuracy in Cisolok District, Sukabumi Regency using Landsat 8 imagery. The results of land classification in this study have an accuracy level of 89%. Land cover classes in the research area based on imagery include forests, plantations, settlements, open land, and waters. These findings support sustainable regional planning and natural resource management, and provide a scientific basis for disaster mitigation based on land cover monitoring.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze differences in the delineation results of the Cisangkuy Micro-Watershed using two types of Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data: DEMNAS and SRTM. The Cisangkuy sub-watershed, located in the upstream area of the Citarum Watershed, was selected due to its vital role in providing raw water for the West Java region, particularly Bandung Regency. A Geographic Information System (GIS)-based approach was used to compare spatial parameters such as elevation, watershed area, slope, and shape ratio. The results show that DEMNAS, with its higher resolution, captures topographic variations in greater detail than SRTM, resulting in watershed boundary delineation that better aligns with the region's hydrological characteristics. Differences in area, slope, and shape ratio parameters indicate that the choice of DEM data significantly influences the results of the spatial analysis. This study concludes that DEMNAS is superior for micro-scale watershed modeling and can support more accurate and precise watershed management planning.

Abstract

River basins play an important role in maintaining ecosystem balance and water resource availability. The Cirasea sub-basin in the Citarum Hulu region is experiencing ecological pressure due to land use change, erosion, and sedimentation. This study aims to compare the use of DEMNAS and DEM SRTM data and identify the morphometric characteristics of the Cirasea sub-watershed using remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) approaches with National Digital Elevation Model (DEMNAS) and Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data. The analysis includes watershed boundary delineation, measurement of area, length, width, river gradient, river order, stream network density, watershed shape, and slope inclination using ArcGIS 10.8 software. The results show that DEMNAS is superior in displaying topographic details and stream networks compared to SRTM, which tends to simplify drainage patterns. The difference in resolution has implications for the accuracy of identifying morphometric parameters, particularly for tributaries, slope distribution, and stream density. These findings emphasize the importance of utilizing high-resolution data for watershed analysis in national priority areas and can serve as a basis for conservation planning, hydrometeorological disaster mitigation, and sustainable watershed management.
