Abstract

This study will look at the academic performance and employment outcomes of 825 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering at the State University of Surabaya. The research employs employability characteristics such as alumni conditions, job waiting time, salary, employment position, competency, and GPA as support variables for cluster interpretation. In this scenario, wages are divided into groups using the K-Means approach, which is based on career outcomes as assessed by income levels. The findings show that distinct groups have extremely different occupational characteristics. According to the findings of this study, 72.12% of graduates are employed, with 88.66% acquiring their first job in less than 6 months. An noteworthy phenomena is that, despite having high GPAs, inequalities in employment prospects persist between clusters. A high GPA does not imply better professional success; employability is determined by variables other than academic achievement. The study's findings show that, while not entirely linear, GPA has a considerable impact on compensation. The ANOVA test indicated significant variations in GPA and pay between groups (p-value <0.001), demonstrating different and significant characteristics within each. These findings will help higher education institutions identify graduate preparedness and improve workforce participation.
