Abstract

The objectives of this study are to design PIKA (Pintar Kalimat Imbauan dan Ajakan, or Smart Sentences of Exhortation and Encouragement)-based teaching materials grounded in the discovery learning approach, to identify the appropriateness of the developed media, and to examine the responses of educators and students to its use. The novelty of the PIKA development lies not only in its form as a website-based learning medium but also in the integration of the discovery learning approach with a digital learning ecosystem that is interactive, adaptive, and oriented toward student engagement. PIKA is designed to transform learning activities—which previously tended to be centered on the delivery of content—into a learning experience that enables students to discover concepts, experiment, and test their understanding through educational games. Another unique feature lies in the integration of content, exploration activities, sentence-building games, drag-and-drop games, a two-player game mode, a scoring system, and visual and audio elements into a single, fully integrated learning page. This study adopted the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE framework, which encompasses the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study involved sixteen second-grade students from SDN Truneng. The data collection tools used included an interview guide for teachers, validation instruments by subject matter experts and media experts, and response questionnaires for teachers and students. Data acquisition was conducted through observations of learning activities, in-depth discussions with teachers regarding instructional needs and barriers, and the distribution of questionnaires to assess the acceptability of the media in terms of content, language, and visualization, accompanied by documentation to support the empirical data. All data were then analyzed using percentage-based descriptive analysis techniques. The study’s findings indicate that the developed media achieved a validity rate of 95.4%, classifying it as highly suitable. The content and linguistic aspects achieved a validity of 92.1%, indicating a very high level of appropriateness. The response rate from educators reached 91.6%, while that from students reached 97%, both falling into the “very good” category. In addition, the evaluation of learning implementation achieved a score of 90 percent. Based on these results, the PIKA-based teaching materials, combined with discovery learning, are highly effective for use as a tool to support Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level and have the potential to strengthen students’ motivation to learn.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a website-based learning medium called Gogim that utilizes the Drill method, to assess its suitability, and to examine the responses of teachers and students to the developed medium. The research method applied in this study was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phase. The subjects of this study were 18 second-grade students at SDN Ngadirejo 02. Data were collected through observation and interviews. The instruments used included questionnaires and documentation. The validation results showed that the media received a 92.85% approval rating from media experts and a 94.11% approval rating from language and content experts, placing it in the “highly suitable” category. In addition, the teacher response rate was 95.00% and the student response rate was 95.18%, both falling into the “very good” category. The evaluation results showed a percentage of 90%. These findings indicate that the Gogim media, based on the Drill method, is suitable for use as a learning medium for the Indonesian language to help improve the reading skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

Reading ability is a foundational competence that elementary school students need to acquire. In practice, some students still encounter difficulties when interpreting and comprehending folktale texts, while the availability of learning media that can facilitate structured reading activities remains limited. This study aims to describe the development stages, determine the feasibility, and portray teachers’ and students’ responses to the “SASIMBA” digital comic based on guided reading. The study adopted a Research and Development (R&D) framework anchored in the ADDIE model, with the research cohort comprising 16 second-grade learners from SDN Truneng. Data acquisition was effectuated through observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation and testing, drawing upon observation sheets, interview protocols, expert appraisal forms, teacher–student response questionnaires, and a reading-comprehension assessment as the respective instruments. The data were analyzed descriptively using percentages. The findings indicate that media expert validation reached 90%, while material and Indonesian language expert validation reached 95%; both were categorized as highly feasible. The teacher response reached 95%, whereas the student response reached 96.09%, categorized as very good. The reading comprehension test yielded an average student score of 91.25%. These findings indicate that the “SASIMBA” digital comic based on guided reading demonstrates a high level of feasibility and receives positive responses in folktale learning among Phase A students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Eduklan learning medium based on the Wix Website platform, integrated with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, and to evaluate its feasibility in supporting fifth-grade elementary school students' advertising text writing skills. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study was conducted at SDN Sugihwaras 1, Magetan Regency, involving one media expert, one content and language expert, one fifth-grade teacher, and 13 fifth-grade students. The research instruments included observation sheets, interview guidelines, expert validation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires, project assessment sheets, and individual evaluation tests. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, project assessments, and learning outcome evaluations. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques based on a four-point Likert scale, with the results converted into percentages. The findings showed that the content and language expert validation achieved 96.25%, the media expert validation reached 95.31%, teacher responses scored 92.19%, and student responses reached 92.56%, all of which were categorized as "very good." Furthermore, the average score of the individual evaluations was 83.08, while the project assessment results ranged from the "good" to the "very good" category. These findings indicate that the Eduklan learning medium based on the Wix Website platform and integrated with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model is highly feasible, practical, and suitable for supporting the teaching of advertising text writing to fifth-grade elementary school students.
