Abstract

Generation Alpha is a generation that grew up amidst the development of digital technology, thus facing various challenges in the formation of Islamic character. Various studies on Islamic Religious Education (PAI) have discussed character strengthening in Generation Alpha, but generally still use the general character education framework and have not examined Islamic character based on the moral dimension in Islamic Religious Education. This study aims to analyze PAI strategies in forming the Islamic character of Generation Alpha in the digital era based on four moral dimensions, namely morality towards Allah, oneself, fellow human beings, and the environment. The study used a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Primary data in the form of 21 literatures were analyzed using content analysis techniques, while the Qur'an, hadith, and supporting literature were used as secondary data. The results of the study indicate that effective PAI strategies include exemplary behavior (uswah hasanah), habituation (ta'widiyah), advice (mau'izah), educational stories (qishshah), and targhib-tarhib which are applied in an integrated manner to the four moral dimensions. This research produces a formulation of Islamic character indicators and a conceptual model of Islamic Education strategy that can be a reference for teachers, parents, and Islamic educational institutions in shaping the character of Generation Alpha in the digital era.
