Abstract

Financial literacy is increasingly important for university students who live in a digital consumption environment characterized by easy access to marketplaces, social media, digital payments, discounts, cashback, and other promotional stimuli. This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy on consumptive behavior among Economic Education students in the digital era. The study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design to examine financial literacy and consumptive behavior among Economic Education students in the digital era. The dataset consists of 100 respondents and was analyzed using validity and reliability tests, residual normality testing, simple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The analysis shows that all 20 financial literacy items and all 20 consumptive behavior items are valid. Cronbach’s Alpha for both variables is 0.988. The residual normality test produces a significance value of 0.975. Simple regression produces the equation Y = 102.947 − 0.720X. The t-test shows t = −9.713 with significance 0.000, indicating a negative and significant effect of financial literacy on consumptive behavior. The coefficient of determination is 0.491, meaning that financial literacy explains 49.10% of the variation in consumptive behavior in the model. The findings indicate the importance of strengthening the practical application of financial literacy among students in digital consumption environments.
