This study aims to describe the teacher's strategies in creating learning activities that attract the attention and engagement of fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Sigar Penjalin in the 2025/2026 academic year, as well as to identify the factors influencing the learning interest of fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Sigar Penjalin in participating in the learning process. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of the fifth-grade teacher and fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Sigar Penjalin. Data were collected systematically through in-depth observation, semi-structured interviews, and relevant documentation. The results of the study showed that teachers’ efforts to create engaging learning were carried out through various adaptive strategies, namely classroom agreements and ice-breaking activities implemented by the homeroom teacher, storytelling strategies used by the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher, and direct practice applied by the Physical Education teacher. These strategies were proven to be able to create a more conducive learning atmosphere, attract students’ attention from the beginning, increase their active participation, and enhance their learning interest sustainably. In addition, the factors influencing students’ learning interest included supporting factors such as innovative teachers’ instructional strategies, high students’ learning motivation, and a clean and conducive classroom atmosphere. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors included the loss of students' focus during long learning durations and the lack of media variety in some sessions.
