Abstract

Aging greatly influences changes in a person's behavior which makes their abilities decrease. Decreased abilities in the elderly not only occur physically, but also psychologically. In physical decline, it is not uncommon for elderly people to experience other problems in their daily lives, such as falls, choking, insomnia, and so on. Meanwhile, psychologically there are also behavioral changes due to decreased cognitive function, depression, anxiety disorders, irritability, etc. which can also worsen physical decline. Anxiety and depression are mental health problems that contribute to the increasing number of disabilities and mortality in old age. Efforts to reduce anxiety and depression include relaxation techniques, distraction, spiritual activities and hypnotherapy or hypnosis. Five finger hypnosis is a technique of hypnotherapy. The aim of this service is to describe anxiety and depression in the elderly and teach five finger hypnosis.
