Abstract

Traditional arts studios sustain arts transmission but face weak regeneration, undocumented oral repertoires, absent visual identity, and informal governance. This community service programme aimed to strengthen the capacity of Sanggar Seni Purnama Sari, a gamelan degung studio in Cibodas Village, West Bandung Regency, by integrating traditional music learning, digital documentation, visual branding, and organisational strengthening. Using a participatory approach, it ran from March to June 2026 in five stages and was assessed across five capacity dimensions. Twenty young participants joined six module-based collective rehearsals culminating in a public performance. Outputs included a learning module, digital archives of five repertoires, a visual identity package, a popular mass-media article, an organisational structure, and three SOPs, all handed over to the studio. The components were mutually reinforcing, although several outcome indicators require verification and no post-programme monitoring was conducted. The integrated art–technology–design model is offered as a replicable framework warranting further evaluation.
