Abstract

Many people practice the sport of table tennis, with a manual like practicing one-on-one. This method is said to be less effective because it drains the energy of a coach who trains his players, also the strokes from a table tennis coach will decrease in accuracy if he is training for a long period of time. The table tennis branch under the auspices of PTMSI Blora Regency still has several problems including in the facilities and infrastructure for training athletes independently using table tennis ball throwing robot media, as well as how to make ball throwing robots that require a small fee. The first solution to the problem is to make a simple table tennis ball throwing robot with a minimum cost of under 1.5 million, for the second solution, training is held to make a ball throwing robot. The development of science in the efficiency of table tennis practice can use tools such as table tennis ball throwing robots, to make a robot that can produce adjustable speed and spin shots having several procedural steps to achieve the desired results such as the process of finding the required information, testing try, and implementation. The result that is expected to be achieved is to produce a table tennis ball throwing robot with the speed, period, and spin of the shot that can be adjusted via a potentiometer. There are two types of spin, namely topspin, and backspin, and can throw 30-80 balls.

Abstract

The necessity for dissolved oxygen in water is crucial for the survival and growth of aquatic organisms, particularly tilapia. Seventy-five percent of tilapia will die if there is insufficient dissolved oxygen in the water. This work seeks to develop a venturi bubble-generating technique to combat the scarcity of dissolved oxygen in the water. A floating pump with a capacity of 12 m3/hour was selected as the medium for distributing water and generating vacuum pressure to draw in air for mixing with the water flow in the venturi. Ansys Fluent was used to model piping and venturi systems. The piping system was modeled with a single-phase (water) flow at a steady state, whereas the flow in the venturi was modeled with a multiphase (air and water) flow under transient situations. The simulation findings revealed that the pressure drop at the 90-degree elbow was much greater (27.17 kPa) than that at the 45-degree elbow (16.53 kPa). A 1-inch input diameter venturi produced bubbles with an average diameter of 105 µm, whereas a ½  inch venturi bubble generator produced bubbles with an average diameter of 83 µm. Owing to the numerous advantages of adopting a six-outlet piping system with a ½ inch venturi, this design is recommended for floating pumps with a capacity of 12 m3/h.

Abstract

Moringa plants can be found in most tropical and subtropical climates. In some parts of Indonesia, the plant is called kelor or marungga. People need the tree as a source of protein, vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates. The plant contains more than 90 nutrients, antioxidants, and 8 essential amino acids, called the ‘elixir tree’. The problem with this plant is that its leaves are easily damaged when picked. One way to avoid this is to perform a drying process. This Moringa dryer consists of an inner cabinet made of aluminum and an outer side made of zinc. The cabinet measures 40 cm long, 35 cm wide, and 35 cm high, has three shelves arranged horizontally, and each shelf can dry between 100 grams to 200 grams of moringa leaves simultaneously. In addition, it has a heater consisting of two 125-watt heaters and two upper and lower fans. In the first experiment, Moringa leaves were dried for 9 hours at 40°C, yielding 30g of dried leaves from 100g of fresh leaves. The second experiment lasted 6 hours at 50 °C, yielding 30 g of dried leaves from 100 g of fresh leaves. Finally, the leaves were dried for 3 hours at 60°C, yielding 30g of dried leaves from the initial 100g. These results also show a large weight loss at various temperatures and durations. After calculating the percentage of weight loss, it was found that the leaves lost 70% of their weight. Outseal PLC can automatically control the drying process according to the pre-programmed program. Temperature and humidity sensors maintain the nutritional quality and texture of the moringa leaves produced by controlling the dryer environment appropriately. This tool can be used easily by users without requiring high technical skills.

Abstract

The connection of dissimilar materials is complicated, too. This connection is due to differences in physical and mechanical properties, but with the development of technology, dissimilar materials can be joined using solid-state welding methods. Dissimilar joints can produce a good combination of structure and mechanical properties. One of them is friction stir welding, which is used to connect sheet materials. The welding process of this research uses a conventional vertical milling machine. This study aims to determine the maximum shear strength and welding defects against variations in the feed rate of lap joints dissimilar high-density polyethylene with polypropylene. The machining parameters used in this experiment were 4 mm pin tool diameter, 2360 rpm rotation speed, 9 mm/min, 12 mm/min, and 16 mm/min feed rate. The results showed that the highest shear strength was obtained using the 12 mm/min feed rate variation of 3.11 N/mm. It can be seen in the macrostructure that the incomplete defects produced are less than the other welding process variations.

Abstract

Solar power plants (PLTS) generate electricity from the energy of solar photons. Solar cells, or solar cells made of crystalline silicon, are examples of solar panels that generate electricity through the photovoltaic effect. Thus, the construction of solar power plants (PLTS) is one of the right choices to save energy. The purpose of this study is to utilize the energy that is owned and to introduce it to the surrounding community.  The community has widely used solar power generation (PLTS) technology, one of the main components of solar power plants is solar photovoltaic technology, which is used to operate juice blenders, cup sealers, and energy-efficient lighting. PLTS functions as an alternative energy source to help juice traders. Based on solar energy for this off-grid system, it has a power capacity of 3 x 200 WP. This monocrystalline solar panel also has a 300 Ah VRLA battery, a 2000 W inverter, and a 50 A solar charger controller (SCC). In addition, the PLTS off-grid system for juice traders has blender equipment, cup sealers, and lighting with an average power rating of 600 Watts. With an efficiency calculation of 80%, this system can be fully used to support business operations. This study is to develop and Design a 600-watt peak Solar Power Plant using an off-grid system for juice vendors that costs Rp. 22,000,000, including all essential components and services needed to ensure that the system can operate properly
