Abstract

Plastic bottle waste is one of the inorganic waste types whose quantity continues to increase due to the high consumption of single-use bottled beverages in society. This condition is also found in Ngadilangkung Village, Kepanjen District, Malang Regency, where most plastic bottle waste is still discarded or burned without optimal reuse. This problem has the potential to cause environmental pollution and reduce the cleanliness quality of residential areas. This community service activity aims to improve community knowledge and skills in utilizing plastic bottle waste into plant pots as an effort to support environmental greening. The implementation method used a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach consisting of preparation, socialization and education, practical training on making plant pots, and activity evaluation stages. The activities were carried out through the delivery of materials regarding the impact of plastic waste, the concept of reduce, reuse, recycle (3R), and direct practice in making plant pots from used plastic bottles. The results of this activity are expected to increase public awareness regarding the importance of plastic waste management and encourage the community to reuse plastic bottles into useful and aesthetic products. In addition to reducing the amount of plastic waste, this activity is also expected to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment in Ngadilangkung Village.
