Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kualitas siswa IPS dalam mengikuti pembelajaran kontekstual materi Program Linier dengan mempertimbangkan kecemasan belajar matematika. Penelitian ini dideskripsikan secara kualitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 29 siswa kelas XI IPS di salah satu SMA Negeri di Surabaya. Data diperoleh dari pengamatan, angket, tes dan wawancara sebagai pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pembelajaran dikategorikan tidak berkualitas. Namun, hasil tersebut  lebih tinggi daripada kualitas pembelajaran yang umumnya terjadi di kelas yang sama.This research aims to describe the quality in contextual teaching and learning of linier programming by considering the mathematics anxiety. It will be described qualitatively. The subject is 29 students of second graders (social) from one of state senior high school in Surabaya. The data is obtained by observation, questionnaire, test and interview. The result of research shows that the learning quality is categorized as bad. However, this result is 24% higher than the common learning quality at the same class.

Abstract

Abstract:Mathematics is the prominent field of all scientific disciplines. Mathematics also has many benefits for human life. However, students' knowledge about benefits of learning mathematics for human life is still not reflected in students’ attitude during their mathematics learning. The students’ attitude in following mathematics learning is strongly influenced by students' perceptions of mathematics. A good perception will foster a positive attitude and vice versa, a bad perception will lead to negative one. One aspect that can affect students’ perceptions is learning model applied by a teacher. This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning model of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type on students' perceptions. The research method is quantitative with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data collection techniques use experiments and direct observation, while the instruments are questionnaires about students' mathematics perceptions. Data analysis is t-test from pretest and posttest data. Based on the results of t-test analysis, it is found that , which is5.71 ( ) and 2.16( ) with a significant level . Based on these results, it can be concluded that cooperative learning model of the TGT type influences students' mathematics perception.Keywords:Perception, Students’ Mathematics Perception, Teams Games Tournament.

Abstract

Affective need to be considered by the teacher because it makes learning more effective. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyse students’ affective through learning with problem posing approach. The present research employs qualitative study. The subject of the research involved 39 students of science class 3 on grade X of Wachid Hasyim 2 Senior High School in Taman, Sidoarjo. The instruments to analyse students’ affective consists of observation note, questionnaires and interview guide. The data is analysed throughout descriptive qualitative. Implementation of the research emphasised composing and problem posing aspects which was done by the students on linear equation system of three variables. The result of the analysis shows that the students’ affective could be identified through receiving, responding, valuing, organizing and characterizing by a value. The subjects with high affective had completely met the aspects of affective and tended to likely be more active during the learning process.
