Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in hospitals is an essential system for protecting the workforce and ensuring the quality of health services. Previous studies among nurses showed that training and education influence OHS perception, yet research on non-medical personnel remains very limited, despite this group facing significant physical, ergonomic, and environmental work hazards. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between safety climate, K3RS training, and management support with OHS perception among non-medical personnel at Hospital X, Batam City. This was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. A sample of 34 respondents was selected using proportional random sampling. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate (chi-square) analysis. The results showed that 52.9% of respondents had a good safety climate, 52.9% had received K3RS training, 52.9% reported management support, and 52.9% had good OHS perception. Bivariate analysis showed significant associations between safety climate (p=0.006), K3RS training (p=0.001), and management support (p=0.001) with OHS perception. It is concluded that safety climate, K3RS training, and management support are significantly associated with OHS perception among non-medical personnel. Hospital management is advised to strengthen sustainable K3RS training programs and reinforce safety climate and management support to improve OHS perception among non-medical staff.
