Abstract

In this modern age, data can be easily transferred within networks. This condition has brought the data vulnerable; so they need protection at all times. To minimize this threat, data hiding appears as one of the potential methods to secure data. This protection is done by embedding the secret into various types of data, such as an image. In this case, histogram shifting has been proposed; however, the amount of secret and the respective stego image are still challenging. In this research, we offer a method to improve its performance by performing some steps, for example removing the shifting process and employing multilayer embedding. Here, the embedding is done directly to the peak of the histogram which has been generated by the cover. The experimental results show that this proposed method has a better quality of stego image than existing ones. So, it can be one of possible solutions to protect sensitive data.

Abstract

Writing is part of the function of language as a means of communication. Writing in this case is certainly different from drawing or scribbling randomly. However, writing in the sense of writing a pen with a specific purpose is suitable, such as writing the letter 'a', then 'a' should not write 'd', 'p', 'q' or others. In today's technological developments, several mobile-based writing lessons have also begun to be introduced to children. However, some of the learning materials provided are still monotonous and do not provide correction for writing errors. Some of them only give examples of certain letters then the children imitate or give dotted lines on a letter then the children thicken the lines. This study takes a new approach, to create an integrated system that can correct children's writing so that it is correct. The system that will be developed is interactive in which the children write a letter and if it is correct, they will be given reward points and if it is wrong, they will be given feedback on the location of the error. For example a child wants to write the letter 'a' upside down or write 'a' with a line that is too long to become 'd', the system will give an error warning and the user can be able to write again.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 yang menyebar diberbagai negara di dunia terutama di Indonesia. Pada awal terjadinya pandemi, usia anak-anak relatif tidak rentan terhadap penularan Covid-19. Namun, saat ini Ikatan Dokter Anak Indonesia (IDAI) mengemukakan fakta bahwa tingkat penularan virus corona pada anak-anak di Indonesia termasuk tinggi dan mengharuskan kewaspadaan bagi orang tua. Dalam rangka menghadapi tahun ajaran baru yang akan melakukan kegiatan belajar-mengajar, diperlukan adanya upaya pengenalan dan pencegahan Covid-19 kepada anak-anak yang mudah dimengerti dan dipahami dengan baik. TK Al-Hiro’, Griya Kebonagung, Kecamatan Sukodono, Kabupaten Sidoarjo Jawa Timur memerlukan suatu media pembelajaran berbasis digital yang dapat mengenalkan Covid-19 dengan bahasa anak-anak. Kami mempunyai pendekatan baru untuk melakukan pengabdian masyarakat di bidang teknologi informasi untuk mendigitalisasi materi dalam protokol kesehatan menjadi lebih menarik disertai audio visual untuk anak-anak.

Abstract

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) merupakan salah satu gangguan mental yang menyebabkan sulitnya memusatkan perhatian dan hiperaktif/impulsivitas yang tinggi. Hal tersebut seringkali mengakibatkan mereka yang mengidap ADHD sering kesulitan dalam menavigasi tampilan antarmuka yang dirancang ountuk orang-orang normal, contohnya pada antarmuka suatu website e-commerce yang penuh dengan konten. Perancangan desain antarmuka pada website e-commerce yang dirancang dengan kepekaan terhadap kebutuhan penyandang ADHD dapat memainkan peran penting dalam memastikan pengalaman belanja mereka lebih inklusif dan efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang desain antarmuka website e-commerce untuk Butik Orlin dengan mengimplementasikan fitur yang ramah terhadap pengidap ADHD menggunakan metode Design Thinking. Dengan menggunakan metode Design Thinking memungkinkan peneliti untuk lebih memahami kebutuhan pengguna dan merancang solusi yang inovatif dan efektif. Dalam rangka meningkatkan aksesibilitas dan pengalaman pengguna penyandang ADHD, penelitian ini perlu mengimplementasikan fitur-fitur yang sesuai dengan karakteristik penyandang ADHD. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, rancangan desain antarmuka yang diusulkan mampu meningkatkan performa dan kepuasan dari pengguna dengan pengidap ADHD.

Abstract

Anak usia 3-5 Tahun, sebagai representasi dari sistem pemberlajaran di banyak wilayah dalam menghadapi tantangan untuk memastikan bahwa setiap anak dapat memahami huruf dengan baik. Meskipun upaya telah dilakukan untuk meningkatkan metode pengajaran, perbedaan individual anak-anak masih menjadi kendala yang signifikan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan game edukasi khusus untuk pengenalan huruf berbasis android di lingkungan anak usia 3-5 tahun. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kreativitas pembelajaran huruf dengan cara yang lebih inklusif. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian berasal dari data primer (anak usia 3-5 tahun) dan data sekunder (riset kepustakaan). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi dan kuisioner, adapun pengolahan data dengan cara editing, klasifikasi, dan verifikasi. Tahapan penelitian dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu identifikasi masalah, studi literatur, pengumpulan data, pembuatan assets, implementasi, dan uji coba game. Hasil dari pengujian black box menunjukkan bahwa permainan ini berjalan sesuai dengan fungsionalitas yang diharapkan. Hasil dari uji system usability scale menghasilkan skor rata-rata responden sebesar 77,3 dengan skala penilaian C, penilaian kata sifat “Good”, dan termasuk dalam kategori marginal.

Abstract

The use of deep learning in the current technological era is increasingly widespread, including in the field of meteorology to support aviation safety. As an archipelagic country, Indonesia faces significant challenges in ensuring flight safety due to unpredictable weather conditions, particularly wind direction and speed, which greatly influence takeoff and landing operations. To address these challenges, the Automatic Weather Observing System (AWOS) plays a crucial role in providing real-time weather data. This study aims to compare the performance of two popular deep learning models for time series data, namely Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), in forecasting wind direction and speed based on AWOS data from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport for the period of January 2020–December 2022, obtained from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) website. After preprocessing, five out of eight attributes were used for modeling. The evaluation results show that the LSTM model consistently outperformed GRU in all forecasting scenarios (30 minutes, 1 hour, and 1.5 hours). For wind direction, LSTM achieved MAE values of 10.92°–11.01°, MSE 242.45–247.89, and RMSE 15.57°–15.74°, all lower than those of GRU. For wind speed, LSTM recorded MAE values of 30.32–31.72 knots, MSE 1868.53–2013.92, and RMSE 43.23–44.88 knots, also outperforming GRU. This research is expected to contribute to the development of risk mitigation systems and the advancement of weather forecasting technology in the future.

Abstract

Delays in completing final projects are a common problem faced by students and can lead to delayed graduation, increased study load, and reduced readiness to enter the workforce. This study uses a quantitative predictive approach to analyze the factors influencing delays in completing student final projects by applying the C5.0 Decision Tree classification algorithm. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire from 204 students of the Faculty of Engineering, University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya, who graduated between 2019 and 2021. The analyzed factors include time management, student motivation, campus policies, faculty support, family support, surrounding environment, and academic skills. The C5.0 algorithm was selected for its higher accuracy and efficiency compared to earlier methods such as C4.5 and CART. The results show that the Surrounding Environment factor is the most dominant, followed by Student Motivation, Time Management, and Family Support. Evaluation of the model yielded excellent classification performance, achieving an accuracy of 95.31%, precision of 96.77%, recall of 93.75%, and an F1-score of 95.24%. These results indicate that the model effectively classifies students at risk of delay with strong predictive reliability. The findings provide insights for universities to develop targeted strategies to enhance student motivation, improve time management, and create a more supportive academic environment. In conclusion, the C5.0 algorithm demonstrates a strong capability to identify dominant delay factors and supports data-driven decision-making in academic management.

Abstract

Student specialization placement in Indonesian secondary schools often produces imbalanced class distributions and misalignment between student interests and assigned tracks. This study develops a hybrid optimization system combining K-Means clustering and Genetic Algorithm (GA) to allocate 133 tenth-grade students from SMAN 1 Ngimbang into four specialization classes (Science, Mixed-Science, Mixed-Social, Social) while balancing operational constraints. Initial K-Means clustering (k=4, n_init=100) achieved a Silhouette Score of 0.287 but yielded severely imbalanced distribution (10, 51, 48, 24 students). GA optimization (population=300, generations=150, crossover=70%, mutation=10%, elitism=10%) with multi-component fitness function incorporating cosine similarity, distribution penalty, movement penalty, and entropy produced balanced classes (31, 35, 35, 32 students) within the 30-35 target range. Post-optimization metrics showed 73.7% retention rate, average match score of 0.792, entropy of 0.482, and execution time of 47.8 seconds. The Silhouette Score decreased to 0.080, reflecting an acceptable trade-off between cluster purity and operational feasibility. Sensitivity analysis confirmed weight configuration robustness. This system demonstrates practical applicability for real-time school implementation, reducing distribution gap by 90.2% while maintaining individual-class compatibility.
