ABSTRACT Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a long-term metabolic disorder caused by insulin function insufficiency that impacts various chronic complications, including diabetic neuropathy. This condition is characterized by decreased foot sensitivity and the emergence of neuropathic pain that can increase the risk of ulcers and amputation. Non-pharmacological efforts such as foot exercises with SensoTherm stimulation media can be an alternative intervention to overcome decreased foot sensitivity and increased neuropathic pain. Analyze the effect of foot exercises with SensoTherm on increasing foot sensitivity and reducing neuropathic pain in type 2 DM patients. Quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest with a control group. A total of 68 DM patients were selected using consecutive sampling technique, consisting of 34 respondents in the intervention group who underwent foot exercises with SensoTherm and 34 respondents in the control group who underwent foot exercises with newspaper. Foot sensitivity was measured using the Semmeswein monofilament test and neuropathic pain was measured using the Indonesian version of the Brief Pain Inventory-Neuropathic Pain (BPI-DPN). Foot exercises in both groups were performed three times a week for 30 minutes. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank and Mann–Whitney U tests. Foot exercise intervention with SensoTherm significantly increased foot sensitivity (p = 0.000) and decreased neuropathic pain (p = 0.000). Conclusion: Foot exercises with SensoTherm effectively increased foot sensitivity and decreased neuropathic pain in type 2 DM patients. Foot exercises with SensoTherm effectively increased foot sensitivity and decreased neuropathic pain in type 2 DM patients.
