Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationships between QRIS use, e-wallet use, and the performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Medan, Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected through online questionnaires from 100 MSME operators selected through purposive sampling. Responses were measured using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS. The results show that QRIS use had a positive but statistically nonsignificant association with MSME performance (B = 0.156, t = 1.553, p = .124). E-wallet use was positively and significantly associated with MSME performance (B = 0.639, t = 5.966, p < .001). The overall regression model was statistically significant (F = 39.683, p < .001), explaining 45.0% of the variation in MSME performance, with an adjusted R² of .439. The study concludes that e-wallet use was significantly associated with higher reported MSME performance after accounting for QRIS use, whereas QRIS use showed no significant independent association. These findings highlight the importance of evaluating digital payment services in relation to business outcomes, while recognizing that the measures reflect perceived payment benefits and self-reported performance
