Abstract

Ultisol soil is a type of soil widely used for agricultural activities, but has major limitations in the form of acid soil reaction, low organic matter content and cation exchange capacity, and limited availability of macronutrients, which cause low plant productivity. Continuous efforts to improve soil quality are needed to increase fertilizer efficiency and crop yields. One alternative that can be applied is the use of organic matter as a soil ameliorant. This study aims to determine the effect of chicken manure and rice husk charcoal on the absorption of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K), as well as the yield of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.) on Ultisol soil. The study was conducted using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The research was conducted using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with a factorial arrangement. The treatment factors consisted of chicken manure fertilizer (A) and rice husk charcoal (P). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and if significant differences were found, further tested with DMRT at the 5% level. The results showed that chicken manure significantly affected the absorption of N, P, and K as well as the biomass of tomato plants, while rice husk charcoal and the interaction of the two treatments did not significantly affect most of the observed parameters. Increasing the dose of chicken manure tends to increase nutrient absorption and crop yield This research provides a scientific contribution to the development of organic-based Ultisol soil management technology to increase crop productivity and support sustainable agricultural systems.
