Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) holds significant potential for enhancing the effectiveness of learning, particularly through the creation of interactive learning media. Junior high schools in Surabaya face challenges in adopting new technologies and often rely on traditional lecture-based or textbook-driven instruction. This community service initiative aimed to provide training on using AI to create interactive learning media. The training covered three easily accessible AI applications: ChatGPT, Gamma.app, and Napkin.ai. ChatGPT was used to generate lesson outlines, Gamma.app transformed these outlines into presentation slides, and Napkin.ai assisted teachers in creating supporting diagrams. The participants consisted of all 16 teachers from the "Bina Insani" Junior High School in Surabaya. The project proceeded through several stages: gathering and processing data on participant training needs; developing training materials and modules; coordinating between organizers and participants; conducting the training sessions; and evaluating the program. Improvements in participant knowledge were assessed by comparing pre-test and post-test scores, administered via Google Forms. The evaluation results showed that the average pre-test score was 65.63, while the average post-test score rose to 89.38. This 23.75-point increase indicates a significant improvement in the participants' understanding of creating interactive learning media following the training. This initiative supports the achievement of SDG 4: Quality Education.
