Abstract

School emergencies such as fainting, choking, sports injuries, seizures, and heat stroke require skilled first aiders before health professionals arrive. This community service activity aimed to improve the psychomotor first aid skills of senior high school and vocational health students in Cimahi City for these five conditions through a digitally supported SMA Emergency Response Training (SMART) program. The two-day competency-based training (16–17 October 2026) involved 47 students and 13 teacher companions from 13 schools, and included a pre-test, platform orientation, demonstrations, guided practice at five skill stations, scenario simulation, and a structured practical examination. The proportion of skill ratings in the skilled or very skilled categories rose from 12.8% to 94.9%, and no rating remained in the less skilled category; the largest gains were for seizure and heat stroke care. The program is feasible for preparing students as first aiders and peer educators, although the evaluation was descriptive and short-term.
