Abstract

Writing is the most complex skill, since it is one of the productive aspects that requires various linguistics components. German language as the foreign language has different grammar, if the grammar is compared to others, that affects to the difficulty of student’s learning process. Blender Brainstorming is one of the method that enables the students to learn writing. There are 3 steps in this method, such as individual task, partner task, and group task. The research question in this study is “how are the responses of XI grade students in 1st semester toward the Blender Brainstorming as the writing method”. The purpose of this study was to describe the response of XI grade students in 1st semester toward the Blender Brainstorming as the writing method. This study applied qualitative supported by descriptive approach, while the data were the descriptive writing test result and the questionnaire of student’s response. The result presented that the Blender Brainstorming achieved positive response. The positive response through the questionnaire and the writing test result were in mutual accord. It concluded that the Blender Brainstorming method not only showed positive response but it was also supported by the result of the writing test. Abstract

Background: The interaction between Chinese culture and local culture produces a unique cultural synergy, which broadens students' understanding of diversity. Learning rooted in local culture also strengthens the values of tolerance and the formation of multicultural identities among elementary school students.Purpose: This study aims to examine the acculturation of Chinese culture as an alternative to Natural and Social Sciences learning at SD Kalianyar I, Bangil.Method: Using a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods, this study presents the real form of acculturation results in physical forms such as architecture, household furniture, and culinary, as well as non-physical elements such as language, customs, and art performances. The sample consisted of 36 fifth-grade students enrolled in science and social studies. Data processing used NVivo 15.Result: The research findings show that students can identify, understand, and appreciate cultural heritage in their environment through contextual and exploratory learning activities.Theoretical implication: In the context of Natural and Social Sciences learning, Chinese cultural acculturation can be raised as learning material in both tangible and intangible forms.Practical implication: The existence of Chinese culture around the school plays an important role as a learning medium that supports the instillation of diversity values and the enrichment of Natural and Social Sciences material.

Abstract

The phenomenon of exchange rate fluctuations and inflation that have continued to occur in the last decade has affected Indonesia's economic stability, especially in the foreign trade sector. This problem is important to study in order to find out how these two variables affect Indonesia's trade balance. This study aims to determine the effect of the rupiah exchange rate and inflation on Indonesia's trade balance for the period 2014–2024. The research method used is quantitative with multiple regression analysis, and hypothesis testing using the t-test and F-test. Secondary data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Bank Indonesia, and the Ministry of Trade. The results of the analysis show that partially the rupiah exchange rate has a positive and significant effect on the trade balance, which means that the higher the exchange rate leads to a trade surplus. Meanwhile, inflation does not have a significant effect on the trade balance partially. Simultaneously, the rupiah exchange rate and inflation have a significant effect on the trade balance, which shows that both variables are together relevant in influencing prices and competitiveness in international trade. Therefore, simultaneous analysis of both is very important to understand the economic health of a country.
