Abstract

Stunting is caused by chronic malnutrition that affects Indonesian children, leading to long-term cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional consequences. Families play a crucial role in providing balanced nutrition to prevent stunting, yet many parents lack the necessary knowledge, necessitating targeted educational interventions. This study assesses the effectiveness of a balanced nutrition education program in enhancing parental knowledge and awareness of stunting prevention among families with infants and toddlers. Using a one-group pre-test and post-test design, 111 mothers participated in the study. Baseline knowledge was assessed through a structured questionnaire. An educational intervention, delivered through discussions, demonstrations, and audiovisual tools, focused on balanced nutrition principles and practical applications. Post-intervention knowledge levels were reassessed, and changes were analyzed using a paired t-test. Parental knowledge significantly improved post-intervention, with the proportion of respondents with good knowledge increasing from 27.03% to 79.28%. Factors influencing outcomes included parental motivation, availability for caregiving, and routine health post-visits. First-time parents and those unemployed showed higher engagement and receptivity. Tailored health education effectively enhances knowledge of stunting prevention. Interactive methods and audiovisual tools are recommended, alongside policies supporting routine counseling and culturally sensitive approaches to address educational gaps and promote optimal nutrition practices.

Abstract

Penyakit hipertensi sebagai the silent disease karena banyak orang yang tidak mengetahui dirinya menderita hipertensi sebelum memeriksakan tekanan darahnya. Hipertensi banyak dari penderitanya mengalami kematian secara mendadak karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan tidak memeriksakan diri ke fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan. Pencegahan akibat yang terjadi diantaranya dapat dilakukan dengan perawatan sirkulasi. Tujuan dilaksanakannya kegiatan ini adalah untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran dan meningkatkan pengetahuan keluarga tentang perawatan sirkulasi dalam mengontrol tekanan darah. Metode yang digunakan yaitu edukasi perawatan sirkulasi dalam upaya pengontrolan tekanan darah di keluarga, wilayah Kampung Angris Curug Sangerang Tangerang yang diikuti oleh 38 keluarga. Hasil edukasi perawatan sirkulasi diperoleh terjadinya peningkatan pengetahuan keluarga dalam melakukanperawatan sirkulasi dirumah yaitu dari 47,36% menjadi 73,68%. Selain itu terjadi perubahan hasil pemeriksaan tekanan darah setelah dilakukan perawatan selama tujuh hari, terdapat 15,78% yang memiliki tekanan darah kembali normal, responden dengan tekanan darah 120/80-139/89 mmHg adalah 23,68% dari 26,32%, respondeng yang memiliki tekanan darah 140/90-159/99 mmHg adalah 39.48% dari 42,11%, dan responden dengan tekanan darah ≥160/100 mmHg 21,06% dari 31,57%. Pengontrolan tekanan dapat dilakukan dengan intervesi perawatan sirkulasi dalam bentuk edukasi kesehatan, dan dapat mengontrol tekanan darah. Sehingga disarankan untuk perawat keluarga diharapkan dapat melakukan pendampigan dan kunjungan secara berkelanjutan pada keluarga dengan hipertensi dalam melakukan pengontrolan tekanan darah. Keluarga diharapkan dapat memberikan dukungan dalam melakukan perawatan sirkulasi terutama penyediaan diet rendah garam dan rendah lemak.

Abstract

Bakcground: Stunting is a common health issue. In poor nations, particularly Indonesia, stunting is a long-term problem with chronic malnutrition that results in growth abnormalities in children, where the child's height is lower or shorter (stunted) than the average for their age.Purpose: To determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and family support for child food insecurity among households with stunting in young children.Method: Cross sectional research methodology is being used in this quantitative investigation. 110 toddlers from the Bojongnangka Tangerang Community Health Center's service region served as the study's population of interest. Simple random sampling is the sampling method employed. The measurements taken include the toddler's height and the answers to a questionnaire that the toddler's parents completed. SPSS 20 was used for data analysis. The Mann Whitney test was used to do univariate and bivariate analysis after the data had been gathered.Results: With a p value of 0.041, there is a significant correlation between the occurrence of staining and knowledge. Parental education (P=0.267), family skills (P=0.438), family attitudes (P=0.838), family emotional support (P=0.521), family informational support (P=0.707), and family appreciation support (P=0.872) do not significantly correlate with the prevalence of stunting.Conclusion: The prevalence of stunting in the Bojongnangka Tangerang Community Health Center is significantly correlated with knowledge.

Abstract

Background: Families play a central role in ensuring the health of each member. One important aspect of maintaining family health is ensuring that all family members receive a balanced nutritional intake. Limited knowledge about balanced nutrition is a challenge that requires immediate attention. Purpose: To provide balanced nutrition education and support in implementing family health behaviors as an effort to increase family independence. Method: Counseling activities were conducted from March to April 2025 in the Bojong Community Health Center (Puskesmas) area. The target group was families with infants, toddlers, and pregnant women. Twenty respondents participated in the counseling. The counseling used an interactive communicative approach accompanied by a direct question-and-answer discussion. The questionnaire used a pre-test and post-test to measure the level of family knowledge and independence. The level of family independence was grouped based on criteria (Table 1). The level of family knowledge and independence was evaluated by observing changes in questionnaire scores between the pre-test and post-test scores. Results: Data showed that the level of knowledge of respondents before the educational activity (pre-test) was 8 in the good category, and after the educational activity (post-test), the level of knowledge increased to 12 in the good category. Regarding the level of independence of respondents, before the educational activity (pre-test), 12 families were in the TK-II independence group and 8 families in the TK-III family independence group. After the educational activity (post-test), 6 families were in the TK-II family independence group, 10 families in the TK-III family independence group, and 4 families in the TK-IV family independence group. Conclusion: Community service activities based on education and mentoring have proven effective in increasing knowledge of balanced nutrition, food selection to meet family nutritional needs, and understanding of the level of family independence, especially in families at risk of stunting. This increased knowledge also has a positive impact and can change parenting behaviors and eating patterns to be healthier. Keywords: Balanced nutrition; Family health; Family independence; Health education; Stunting Pendahuluan: Keluarga memiliki peran sentral dalam usaha menwujudkan kesehatan setiap anggota keluarganya. Salah satu upaya penting dalam menjaga kesehatan keluarga adalah bagaimana memastikan seluruh anggota keluarga mendapatkan asupan gizi yang seimbang. Keterbatasan pengetahuan tentang gizi seimbang menjadi tantangan tersendiri yang perlu segera diberikan perhatian khusus. Tujuan: Memberikan edukasi gizi seimbang dan pendampingan dalam penerapan perilaku kesehatan keluarga sebagai upaya meningkatkan derajat kemandirian keluarga. Metode: Kegiatan penyuluhan dilaksanakan pada Maret-April 2025 di wilayah binaan Puskesmas Bojong. Sasaran dalam kegiatan ini adalah keluarga yang memiliki bayi, balita, dan keluarga dengan ibu hamil. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 20 orang untuk menjadi responden. Penyuluhan dilakukan dengan pendekatan komunikatif interaktif yang disertai dengan diskusi tanya-jawab langsung. Instrumen kegiatan menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengukur tingkat pengetahuan dan kemandirian keluarga yang diberikan sebelum kegiatan edukasi (pre-test) dan sesudah kegiatan edukasi (post-test). Tingkat kemandirian keluarga dikelompokkan berdasarkan kriteria (Tabel 1). Evaluasi tingkat pengetahuan dan kemandirian keluarga dengan melihat perubahan nilai kuesioner antara sebelum kegiatan edukasi (pre-test) terhadap nilai sesudah kegiatan edukasi (post-test). Hasil: Mendapatkan data bahwa tingkat pengetahuan responden sebelum kegiatan edukasi (pre-test) sebanyak 8 orang dalam kategori baik dan terjadi peningkatan tingkat pengetahuan responden setelah  kegiatan edukasi (post-test) menjadi sebanyak 12 orang yang dalam kategori baik. Untuk tingkat kemandirian responden menunjukkan sebelum kegiatan edukasi (pre-test) sebanyak 12 keluarga dalam kelompok kemandirian TK-II dan sebanyak 8 keluarga dalam kelompok kemandirian keluarga TK-III, sedangkan untuk sesudah kegiatan edukasi (post-test) sebanyak 6 keluarga dalam kelompok kemandirian keluarga TK-II, sebanyak 10 keluarga dalam kelompok kemandirian keluarga TK-III dan sebanyak 4 keluarga dalam kelompok keluarga mandiri TK-IV. Simpulan: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang berbasis pendidikan dan pendampingan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan gizi seimbang, pemilihan jenis makanan dalam pemenuhan gizi keluarga dan pemahaman tentang derajat kemandirian keluarga, khususnya pada keluarga yang berisiko stunting. Peningkatan pengetahuan ini juga berdampak baik dan mampu mengubah perilaku pola asuh dan pola makan menjadi lebih sehat..
