Abstract

Sosialisasi merupakan proses belajar tentang segala sesuatu di dalam kehidupan yang meliputi bahasa, norma, nilai, sistem kemasyarakatan, ilmu pengetahuan, mata pencaharian, kesenian, agama, dan lainnya. Pentingnya sosialisasi bagi setiap anak menjadi kewajiban bagi para orang tua, masyarakat, dan pemerintah untuk mengajarkan serta mewariskannya kepada setiap anak. Sekarang ini masih banyak para orang tua, masyarakat, dan pemerintah menganggap sepele terhadap proses sosialisasi yang dialami oleh setiap anak, akibatnya anak tersebut kurang mengetaui mana yang baik dan mana buruk. Sosialisasi yang baik dapat dilihat dari perilaku seorang anak dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat yaitu sesuai norma, nilai, dan budaya di masyarakat. Socialization is the process of learning about everything in life which includes language, norms, values, social systems, science, livelihoods, arts, religion, and others. The importance of socialization for each child is an obligation for parents, the community, and the government to teach and inherit it to every child. Now there are still many parents, communities, and the government that consider trivial to the socialization process experienced by every child, as a result the child is less knowledgeable about what is good and what is bad. Good socialization can be seen from the behavior of a child in community life that is according to the norms, values, and culture in the community. Keywords: Socialization, Children

Abstract

The wrist-pulling tradition is a social exchange practice based on a reciprocal system. The research aims to analyze the mechanisms of social exchange in the wrist-pulling tradition in Punggulan village using George C. Homans' theoretical framework. This research uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic method conducted in Punggulan Village, Air Joman District, Asahan Regency, for two months. Data was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with 6 informants (Mrs. Pawit, Sari Rahayu, Mrs. Ayat, and 3 other residents) selected through purposive sampling, as well as documentation. The analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model integrated with seven propositions from Homans' theory. The results of this study indicate that the traditional practice of "narik wirit" is triggered by economic factors and social norms. This tradition also provides financial benefits, social support, and a mechanism for reproducing solidarity through "rewang" (mutual aid). Nevertheless, there is social pressure to reciprocate invitations when pulling rank, even though the economy is struggling. Economically, the benefits felt by the community when pulling wirit are greater than the costs incurred. Additionally, the community also views pulling the wirit as a symbol of social solidarity among residents. Then, intergenerational value differences were found, where the older generation viewed tradition as an obligation of solidarity, while the younger generation saw it as a social debt. The tradition of "narik wirit" demonstrates a balance between economic rationality and social solidarity, with value adaptations aligned with modernization.

Abstract

This scientific study aims to analyze in more depth the Dutch colonial government's policies towards Islamic education. This scientific study uses qualitative research methods with the type of library research. The data used in this study is secondary data, including accredited journals and books that are appropriate to the topic studied. The results of the analysis state that the Dutch colonial government's policy towards Islamic education in Indonesia was very unsupportive. The researchers based this conclusion on deviations in the application of ethical politics, the emergence of teacher ordinances, and even illegal school ordinances that are specific to educational institutions or Islamic schools. Therefore, this proves how concerned the Dutch colonial government was regarding the existence and development of Islamic education in Indonesia

Abstract

Orphans residing in orphanage institutions frequently encounter multifaceted psychological challenges, including diminished self-concept, limited social support networks, and reduced academic motivation stemming from parental loss. This study was designed to examine the role of guidance and counseling services in fostering learning intelligence among orphans at the Al-Jam'iyatul Washliyah Orphanage in Medan. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving three orphanage residents and two counselors or institutional caregivers. The findings reveal three synergistically implemented intervention strategies: (1) individual counseling grounded in a client-centered approach, aimed at strengthening personal resilience and cultivating a positive self-concept; (2) group guidance through peer group counseling and peer tutoring, which fosters a cooperative learning environment among participants; and (3) internalization of Al-Washliyah's spiritual values, which nurtures intrinsic motivation rooted in a sense of religious devotion. All three strategies consistently demonstrated effectiveness in reinforcing key indicators of learning intelligence, encompassing time discipline, metacognitive skills, and achievement orientation. The study concludes that the integrated implementation of guidance and counseling services holds considerable potential to transform orphanages into holistic educational ecosystems that support the development of learning intelligence among orphaned children. ABSTRAK Anak yatim yang tinggal di panti asuhan kerap menghadapi berbagai persoalan psikologis, di antaranya rendahnya kepercayaan diri, minimnya dukungan sosial, serta melemahnya semangat belajar sebagai dampak dari kehilangan orang tua. Penelitian ini dirancang untuk mengkaji bagaimana layanan bimbingan dan konseling berperan dalam mengembangkan kecerdasan belajar anak yatim di Panti Asuhan Al-Jam'iyatul Washliyah Medan. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data dihimpun melalui observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap tiga anak panti asuhan dan dua konselor atau pengurus panti. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan tiga strategi intervensi yang diterapkan secara sinergis, yakni: (1) konseling individual berbasis pendekatan client-centered yang bertujuan membangun ketangguhan diri dan citra diri yang positif; (2) bimbingan kelompok melalui peer group counseling dan peer tutoring yang mendorong terbentuknya iklim belajar kooperatif; serta (3) internalisasi nilai-nilai spiritual Al-Washliyah yang menumbuhkan motivasi intrinsik berlandaskan semangat ibadah. Ketiga strategi tersebut secara konsisten terbukti memperkuat indikator kecerdasan belajar, meliputi kedisiplinan waktu, kemampuan metakognitif, dan orientasi terhadap prestasi. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan layanan bimbingan dan konseling secara terpadu mampu mentransformasi panti asuhan menjadi ekosistem pendidikan yang holistik bagi perkembangan kecerdasan belajar anak yatim.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tantangan yang dihadapi generasi muda dalam melestarikan Pesta Gotilon serta mengkaji peran mereka dalam mempertahankan keberlangsungan tradisi tersebut di Desa Haunatas, Kecamatan Marancar, Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan. Pesta Gotilon merupakan warisan budaya masyarakat Batak yang memiliki nilai sosial, budaya, dan religius sebagai ungkapan syukur atas hasil panen sekaligus sarana mempererat hubungan sosial masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan tokoh adat, tokoh masyarakat, generasi muda, dan pihak terkait. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dengan menggunakan teori adaptasi budaya Robert Dubin sebagai landasan analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa generasi muda menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti menurunnya minat terhadap tradisi lokal, kuatnya pengaruh budaya modern, rendahnya pemahaman terhadap nilai budaya, serta terbatasnya keterlibatan dalam kegiatan adat. Namun demikian, generasi muda berperan penting dalam pelestarian Pesta Gotilon melalui partisipasi dalam pelaksanaan tradisi, pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai sarana promosi budaya, serta pengembangan inovasi yang memadukan unsur tradisional dan modern. Keberlangsungan Pesta Gotilon memerlukan dukungan keluarga, tokoh adat, pemerintah desa, dan masyarakat untuk meningkatkan partisipasi generasi muda dalam pelestarian budaya.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the role of elementary school teachers in instilling discipline in students amid the digital transformation occurring at SD 105438 Paya Lombang. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, data were collected through field observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and the school principal, as well as documentation of learning activities. The results show that teachers not only play a role as facilitators in the digital learning process but also as moral guides who instill values of discipline through an adaptive approach to technological developments. The use of digital tools such as learning applications, visual media, and communication platforms serves as a strategic means to build orderly and responsible learning routines. Nevertheless, this research also reveals various challenges faced, such as the limited digital literacy among teachers and students, as well as the lack of adequate technological infrastructure. Therefore, stronger collaboration is needed between schools, parents, and the community in creating a conducive, inclusive learning environment that is character-focused in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the impact of TikTok social media use on the mental health of Generation Z in social relationships. As one of the most popular digital platforms among today's youth, TikTok significantly shapes its users' mindset, emotions, and social behaviour. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, through in-depth interviews and observations of several residents aged 17-22 years old around the Griya Martubung area who actively use TikTok. The findings indicate that TikTok has both positive and negative impacts on the mental health of Generation Z. Positive impacts include increased self-confidence, self-expression, and access to information. However, negative impacts include social anxiety, feelings of inadequacy, and dependence on social views in the form of likes and comments. Several respondents experienced decreased direct interactions in social relationships due to a greater focus on online interactions. This study emphasises the importance of digital literacy and the role of mentors from the surrounding environment to prevent TikTok use from negatively impacting the mental health and quality of Generation Z's social relationships.

Abstract

This study explores teachers' roles in educating hard-of-hearing students in communication and social interaction at SLB-E Negeri Pembina Medan. The main focus of this research is to understand how teachers enhance students' communication skills and social interactions through appropriate approaches, methods, and learning strategies. This research employs a qualitative case study approach, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. Research shows that teachers support hard-of-hearing students' social development by applying innovative teaching methods and creating an inclusive learning environment. Using visual aids and technologies such as images, videos, and sign language significantly contributes to creating an effective and enjoyable learning process for hard-of-hearing students.
