The Influence of Professional Competence on the Performance of Physical Education Teachers and Learning Motivation of High School Students Abstract This study aims to analyze the influence of professional competence on physical education teacher performance and student learning motivation at SMA Negeri 2 Labuapi, both simultaneously and partially. The study used a quantitative associative method. The population comprised physical education teachers, with a sample of 40 Grade X students. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis involved validity, reliability, prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity), and simple linear regression. Results revealed that professional competence positively and significantly affects teacher performance, with a sig. t value of p(0.000) < (0.05) and Tcount (4.341) > Ttable (2.024). However, it does not significantly affect student motivation, with a sig. t value of (0.875) > (0.05) and Tcount (0.158) < Ttable (2.024). The study concludes that professional competence enhances teacher performance but does not significantly impact student motivation. Continuous professional development is recommended to strengthen teacher competencies.
