Abstract

In line with the competency-based curriculum at the University of Riau, then efforts to improve learning in science courses Basic Concepts 2 put emphasis on understanding the concept of matter, which is based on students' learning activities through inquiry scientifik. Implementation of action research that consists of two cycles in PGSD JIP University of Riau, on the odd semester of the TA 2013/2014 with the third semester students study subjects by 55 students. Based on the research results , the lecture by applying the model of inquiry learning , increased student activity , where in the first cycle all activities except activities either category one and category two pretty while the first and second cycles of the four categorized well , while the activity of the second , third and sixth category five splendidly. While improving student learning of pre-tests with an average increased to 77.0 at 65.45 daily tests I and increased to 77.45 on the daily tests II, an increase from the first cycle of initial data points ranging from 11.55, while the data from the beginning of the second kesiklus increased average The average student score 12 points. Improved student learning outcomes in general possible because the learning model used inquiry learning so that learning becomes active which centered on the students by presenting a problem, then students are asked to carry out a simple experiment using equipment and tools, using data, prepare. reports, communicate the results of observations based on concepts and principles learned

Abstract

In line with the competency-based curriculum at the University of Riau, the effort to improvelearning basic concepts of science 2 courses puts emphasis on understanding the concept ofmatter, which is based on students' learning activities through scientific inquiry.Implementation of action research consists of two cycles in PGSD JIP University of Riau onthe odd semester of 2013/2014 with 55 third semester students. In general the improvement ofstudents’learning is possible because the learning model used is inquiry learning so thatlearning becomes active which centered into students by presenting a problem, then studentsare asked to carry out a simple experiment using equipment and tools, using data, arrangingreports, communicating the results of observations based on concepts and learned principles.Keywords: Inquiry, students’ activity, learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research was qualitative research with descriptive method. Subject was student teachers who took Fundamental Science 1. Based on validity analysis of item on 1 % significance level, there were 16 valid items, 26 valid ietms for 5 % significance level, and 14 invalid items. Then, analysis of distinguishing items, the item number 20 was very worst, 15 items were poor, other 15 item were fair and the other items were good. Meanwhile, analysis of level of difficulty, 17 item were very easy, 9 items were easy, 11 items were moderate, an item was difficult, and the others were very difficult. Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive multimedia learning media on science subjects using Adobe Flash as a learning media for SD IVC classes. This development is in the form of learning media products in an interactive CD. The method used in this study uses the Research and Development (R & D) method with a 4D model that has 4 stages of development, namely define, design, development, and desseminate. The results of the validation test show that interactive multimedia learning media in science subjects are declared good with the results of validation by media experts 3.75 with very valid categories, expert material 3.5 with very valid categories, and by 3.54 users in good categories. Based on the N-Gain of 0.60 with the medium category and it can be said that the effectiveness of interactive multimedia as a learning media is classified as effective. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the development of interactive multimedia on science subjects using adobe flash as an instructional media for SD IVC is declared feasible and effective to be used in the learning and teaching process

Abstract

The sustainability of this research from Biermann has a focus on collaborating on the earth system governance network based on five research challenges namely architecture, agency, adaptability, allocation, and accountability. Research in order to link the relationship of social science with the earth's governance system. It turns out that the social system is very influential in the earth's governance system, so the need to instill the value of the value of love of nature since elementary education so that the impact of the social system on the earth's governance system in the future can be minimized. The results of this study indicate that social systems consisting of people, governments, and non-government actors must work together to deal with the impact of a dynamic earth governance system. For this reason, elementary education is needed to reduce the negative impact of changes in the earth's governance system through the cultivation of character education that loves the environment while having a sense of responsibility.

Abstract

Scientific literacy has become a fundamental focus of Education and is related to the ability to criticize scientific discussions. From the beginning we are required to be able to make decisions by individuals and have a sense of responsiveness to public issues related to science but do not rule out access to get it all must be good both in terms of learning in elementary school. Learning is divided into two, namely conventional and problem-based learning based on scaffolding. The result of this article is the need to increase mathematical modeling skills in students with a problem-based learning approach is higher than conventional. So, Problem based learning will certainly have a positive effect to tackle global warming by applying five main challenges and correlating the relationship of the earth's governance system to social science with elementary education input as the spearhead of generational change for the better.

Abstract

The Meranti Archipelago is the largest producer and exporter of sago in Indonesia. However, in some areas, sago processing sites have not developed optimally, especially in Bagan Melibur Village. Based on this, the research team from the University of Riau carried out community service activities in Bagan Melibur Village, Merbau District, Meranti Islands, Riau on June 25 – July 1, 2021. In this activity, the research team collaborated with MSMEs BAS (Bagan Melibur Amanah Sejahtera) ) and the local community to build a drying house with UV plastic coating that can be used to dry sago cendol food products so that they can be processed into dry food which is expected to optimize the production and marketing of processed sago. Solar radiation that is absorbed directly by UV plastic functions as a conductor and retainer of heat so that the temperature in a place or room is maintained. The achievement of the results obtained in the form of a drying house with solar power that can be used at any time and in cloudy or rainy weather conditions. With this, of course, the production of dry sago cendol can last longer and can be marketed outside the Bagan Melibur area.

Abstract

The sago business in the Bagan Melibur Village has been around for a long time, but has not provided welfare for the community. So far, the processing of sago sandal is still in the traditional way, namely the direct drying process under the hot sun and the human-powered sago processing process, so that the production period is quite long and the results obtained are less. For this reason, this service has the aim of developing the potential of the Bagan Melibur village community in managing sago into various kinds of processed foods and beverages, one of which is a dry sago sandal (celsring). To be able to speed up the celsring processing process, it is necessary to use tools such as ultraviolet housings, so that the drying process can be carried out under any conditions. This tool can speed up the production period and production results. This community service was carried out in the Bagan Melibur Village, Merbau District, Meranti Islands Regency uses the extension method. Based on the service activities carried out, the Celsring product brand is produced which is ready to be marketed outside the Bagan Melibur area.

Abstract

The population of Rantau Baru Village is 750 people. Most of the people's livelihood is fishing. There are eleven teachers in Rantau Baru Village, consisting of nine elementary school teachers and two kindergarten teachers. In addition, the number of village officials is eleven people. The purpose of this service activity is to provide an understanding to teachers and village officials about the importance of soft skills in improving teacher professionalism and service quality. In addition, outbound activities are also carried out which are useful as personality development. This service is carried out through: lecture and demonstration methods (Practice). The target group for this service is 22 people consisting of elementary school teachers, kindergarten teachers and village officials. The results of this service can increase the knowledge of participants about soft skills and personality. Another benefit for teachers and village officials is to strengthen personality aspects such as self-confidence, cooperation, courage, creativity, and social relations in improving the professionalism of teachers and village officials.

Abstract

WORKSHOP OF UTILIZATION OF LEARNING ENVIRONTMENT AROUND SCHOOLS IN MATHEMATICS LEARNING FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN SIAK HULU, KAMPAR. The workshop on the utilization of learning environment was motivated by the lack of teachers' mathematical and didactical knowledge. Teachers tend to explain techniques or procedures for solving mathematical problems without explaining the real context or situation of the problem, and this is contrary to the theories of mathematical learning that develop, such as the cognitive development theory, the realistic mathematics education, and the didactic situation theory. In addressing this problem, the team held a week workshop consisting of the lectures, observation, lesson plans, and implementation of learning by the teachers participating in the workshop, and reflection and evaluation of workshop activities. The data collection instrument consists of a questionnaire measuring the attitudes and beliefs of teachers towards mathematics, students learning mathematics, and mathematics learning based on real environments, photos, video recordings, and documents produced by the participants. The results of the implementation of this workshop show an increase in teachers' beliefs and attitudes towards students learning and mathematics learning based on real-life situations. Some participants were able to present the potential of the school environment as a source of learning mathematics, compile lesson plans, and carry out environment-based mathematics learning. The recommendation from this activity is that in the future it is necessary to have a service program that focuses on strengthening the teachers' mathematics content knowledge and making mathematics learning media and/or teaching aids.
