Abstract

L?objectif de cette recherche est de décrire l'efficacité de la méthode Picture and Picture pour écrire le paragraphe narratif de la classe XI à SMA N 8 Semarang. Les répondants de cette recherche sont les éleves de la classe XI IPS 4 et le montant est 24 lycéens. Les données sont recueillies par la méthode de documentation et la méthode de test pour mesurer la capacité des lycéens d?écrire le paragraphe narrative. Cette recherche est une recherche quasi expérimentale avec one-shot case study modèle. Ensuite, le résultat du test est comparé avec le critère minimal de l?apprentissage (KKM). L'analyse des données prouve que le pourcentage de l?apprentissage est de 79%. Ce résultat est moins qu?au standard de Depdikbud= 85% (test = 79% <standard = 85%). Alors, il peut être conclu que la méthode Picture and Picture n'est pas efficace pour écrire le paragraphe narratif de la XI classe à SMA N 8 Semarang. The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of Picture and Picture method in writing paragraph narrative for students in XI grade SMA N 8 Semarang. This methode use the series of images that can be used in learning the French language. The series of images can help students in writing paragraph that has a storyline like the paragraph narrative. The respondents of this research are the students of XI IPS 4 and the amount is 24 students. The data are collected by documentation and test method to measure the student?s ability in writing paragraph narrative. This research used quasi experimental research with one-shot case study model. Then, the result of the test is compared with minimum criteria of mastery learning (KKM). The data analysis proves that the percentage of mastery learning is 79%. This result is less than the standard of Depdikbud which is 85% (test= 79% < standard= 85%). Therefore, it can be concluded that Picture and Picture method is not effective in writing paragraph narrative for students in XI grade SMA N 8 Semarang.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Jenis data yang terdapat dalam penelitian ini merupakan data tulis dan data lisan, sedangkan data yang dimaksud yaitu mengenai ungkapan-ungkapan metaforis tentang narkoba dari segi penyalahgunaan dan praktik bisnis narkoba. Fokus penelitian saya yaitu pada penggunaan metafora tentang narkoba dan bagaimana proses konseptualisasi yang ada didalamnya. Metafora tidak hanya bagian dari gaya bahasa, tetapi dibalik itu terdapat cara dan proses berfikir ketika menghasilkan ungkapan yang mengandung metafora sehingga ada proses kognitif yang berlangsung ketika seseorang menghasilkan ungkapan metaforis. Sementara itu konvensi antara ranah sumber pada ranah target dihasilkan dengan cara melihat persamaan dan membandingan ciri, sifat, dan kategori diantara  keduanya.Kata kunci: konseptualisasi metafora, linguistik kognitif.

Abstract

This article aims to know sound variations of prefix /in-/ in French and to explain phonological process of prefix /in-/ in French. The addition of the prefix / in- / can change the meaning of words into the opposite meaning. This prefix has orthographic and phonetic variation which means there are phonological rules in it, the focus of research is on sound variations and phonological rules prefix / in- / in French. The research subject is French, while the object research is adjective in French with prefix / in- /. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with observation method and note-taking technique. The approach used is transformational generative phonology. The addition of the prefix /in-/ indicates that this prefix has a function as a negative marker (negative prefixes). The result of the analysis shows that sound variations of prefix /in-/ in French are [iŋ-], [in-], [im-], [il-], [iʁ-]. The phonological process that occurs in it is an assimilation process. Assimilation process that occurs in the form of nasalization because there are changes in the sound of consonants that are nasalized in the nasal sound environment.

Abstract

The present study examines the differences in pronunciation of the vowels /ɛ/ and /y/ in French between Indonesian students as foreign speakers and native French speakers. The necessity to explore this topic arises from the fact that the Indonesian vowel system does not accommodate some vowels in French, which causes phonetic deviations in the process of foreign language acquisition. This current study focuses on describing the quality  of pronunciation of the two vowels based on acoustic parameters using Praat software, and to recognize the forms of phonetic deviations that occur. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach by analyzing acoustic data in the form of formant frequencies F1, F2 and F3 from the pronunciation recordings of ten participants. The results of the analysis show that the pronunciation of the vowel /y/ by Indonesian students experiences significant deviations, particularly in terms of lip rounding and articulatory position. This is reflected in the lower average F2 (1638.6 Hz) compared to native speakers (1975.6 Hz), and a much higher F3 (3183.2 Hz for non-native speakers versus 2416 Hz for natives). Meanwhile the vowel /ɛ/ shows more moderate differences, with an average F1 of 612 Hz for non-native speakers and 533 Hz for native speakers. These findings indicate the influence of phonological interference from the mother tongue on the production of French vowels. The findings of this research underscore the importance of technology-based phonetic teaching and intensive articulation training in learning French as a foreign language.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap makna budaya yang terkandung dalam simbol-simbol ruang publik Prancis melalui pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes dan Yuri Lotman. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif, penelitian ini menganalisis sejumlah simbol visual yang ditemukan di ruang publik seperti bandara, rumah sakit, stasiun, dan area komersial. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa simbol-simbol tersebut tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat komunikasi praktis, tetapi juga mengandung nilai-nilai ideologis yang mencerminkan identitas budaya Prancis, seperti keteraturan, disiplin sosial, penghargaan terhadap waktu, dan etika kolektif. Melalui integrasi analisis mikro struktural Barthes dan makro sistemik Lotman, penelitian ini menawarkan pemahaman mendalam mengenai bagaimana simbol-simbol ruang publik berkontribusi terhadap pembentukan kesadaran budaya masyarakat Prancis modern. Temuan ini diharapkan berkontribusi terhadap kajian semiotika budaya dan menjadi rujukan bagi studi interkultural di bidang linguistik dan pendidikan bahasa asing.
