Abstract

The implementation of a system with fair principles for all groups, including persons with disabilities, requires full supervision due to their vulnerability to discrimination as victims, perpetrators, or witnesses. Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities serves as the legal foundation for protecting and respecting the rights of persons with disabilities. However, challenges persist in its practical implementation. A case in Sumenep, as reflected in Decision Number 135/Pid.B/2024/PN.Smp, serves as the main focus of this study, emphasizing the application of justice principles for persons with disabilities who often face obstacles, particularly regarding adequate accommodation and accessibility, leading to injustice in the rights they receive .This research employs a normative juridical method with a case study approach and secondary data analysis to identify the principles of justice applied, assess the implementation of existing regulations, and examine the criminal justice system in Indonesia. The findings indicate that discrimination in protecting the rights of persons with disabilities persists due to weak regulations on the types of disabilities victims face and the accommodations provided. Based on this decision, it is imperative to provide training for law enforcement officers to be more assertive in implementing justice for all citizens of Indonesia, including persons with disabilities, as victims, witnesses, or perpetrators of criminal acts. Strengthening protection mechanisms is essential to ensuring tangible justice and creating an inclusive criminal justice system that safeguards their rights.

Abstract

Abstract

Dental impressioning aims to produce accurate moulds of teeth and oral tissues. Impression materials and moulds must meet cri-teria such as precision, non-toxicity, and adequate setting time. Selecting the appropriate impression material is crucial for pro-ducing accurate and high-quality dental prostheses. This study discusses various types of impression materials, both elastic and non-elastic, and identifies the most effective materials for making dental prostheses. Polyvinylsiloxane (PVS) is the most widely used and most accurate impression material compared to others, as PVS has high dimensional stability, superior accuracy, and good elastic recovery. It is concluded that ongoing education and training on materials and impression techniques are essential to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

Reading skill has been found to be one of difficult skills to achieve for many learners of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Importantly, based on the preliminary study, narrative texts  are deemed to be difficult.  This study was conducted to investigate the students’ difficulties in reading text at a private primary school in Batu, involving 29 ninth grade students in the academic year of 2018-2019 as the samples. Employing the purposive sampling method by which the best class was selected, the researcher used10-items of a closed-ended questionnaire to collect the data. In the analysis, some aspects of the narrative text such as words, structure, language feature, character, setting, plot, moral value, and point of view were highlighted. Consistently, narrative texts were found to be the most difficult text faced by students at school. According to the English teacher, students got the difficulties because of lack of vocabulary, the use of simple past tense, and the instruction to make sense of the moral values. Further, difficulties pertain to the effort to comprehend the structure, point of view, and the words.
