Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the mass of erythrocytes or hemoglobin in circulation cannot fulfill its function to provide oxygen to body tissues. Anemia in adolescent girls is still quite high; the world prevalence of anemia ranges from 40 to 88%. Community service activities aim to screen (check) hemoglobin levels as early detection of anemia using the Point of Care Testing (POCT) method to determine the relationship between age and education to the incidence of anemia and as a preventive effort to minimize anemia. This activity was carried out through counseling about hemoglobin using the lecture method at the Islamic Boarding School Roudlotul Musthofa in May with 23 female students as respondents, which were then analyzed using the Wilcoxon statistical test. The results of the questionnaire before counseling (pre-test) obtained an average of 80, then counseling was carried out, and the average results of the questionnaire (post-test) were 94. The results of the Wilcoxon Test analysis showed p (Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed)) = 0.000 < α (0.05), which means that there is a significant influence between the knowledge of junior high school students of Raudlatul Mustofa Islamic Boarding School Tulungagung Regency and hemoglobin counseling conducted.

Abstract

Chili farmers in Kendalbulur Village are the main subjects that have a great influence due to exposure to pesticide residues (toxicity). Pesticide toxicity affects enzymes produced by the liver that cause changes in its working system. This study aims to look at the characteristics and levels of the enzymes SGOT, SGPT, and ALP in chili farmers exposed to pesticides that perform spraying activities. The SGOT-SGPT liver function test is a health screening that combines the examination of SGOT and SGPT enzyme levels in the blood. The purpose of this liver function test is to detect hepatitis or cirrhosis of the liver in chili farmers. The alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzyme test is conducted to help diagnose and evaluate cirrhosis and inflammatory diseases of the liver. In addition to evaluating liver function, the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzyme test can also help detect bone disorders or protein deficiencies in chili farmers. Respondents were 20 chili farmers and pesticide users with an age range of 34–71 years. Test method using the non-analytical descriptive method and sampling technique using total sampling. The examination carried out is the rate of SGOT, SGPT, and ALP using spectrophotometry. The results of the SGOT examination showed that all respondents had SGOT levels in the normal range of <40 U/L, where the lowest result was 16 U/L and the highest was 35 U/L. While SGPT showed that all respondents were in the normal range of 40 U/L, with the lowest result of 2 U/L and the highest of 23 U/L, the ALP levels of many respondents were above normal values. The lowest value is 131 U/L, and the highest is 222 U/L. The results showed that the respondents showed disruption of the liver because ALP levels give high results. Where should ALP levels decrease with age.

Abstract

Getuk merupakan makanan ringan yang terbuat dengan bahan utama ketela pohon atau singkong. Bakteri yang menyebabkan diare atau foodborne diease masuk melalui berbagai cara yaitu oral, lingkungan yang tercemar, makanan, dan lain-lain sehingga kondisi seperti ini sangatlah tergantung dengan pedagang, bagaimana pedagang tersebut tetap mempertahankan kehigienisan makanan yang dijualnya agar tidak terkontaminasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi bakteri Salmonella sp. pada makanan tradisional getuk yang dijual di Pasar Ngunut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Yang dilaksanakan pada 24 sampai 29 Mei 2018 di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi DIII Teknologi Laboratorium Medis STIKes Hutama Abdi Husada Tulungagung. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah semua getuk yang dijual di Pasar Ngunut, teknik sampling pada penelitian ini adalah total sampling, yang diperoleh sebanyak 6 sampel makanan tradisional getuk. Instrumen yang digunakan diantaranya adalah tabung steril, pipet ukur, incubator, plate, media agar plate, aquadest, oven dan peralatan laboratorium yang dibutuhkan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa dari 6 sampel, 3 sampel positif bakteri Salmonella dan 3 sampel tidak ditemukan bakteri Salmonella sp. Hasil penelitian selanjutnya dianalisis secara diskriptif. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa sampel teridentifikasi bakteri Salmonella sp pada makanan tradisional getuk yang dijual di Pasar Ngunut Tulungagung dengan menggunakan media Selenite Broth sebagai pemupuk, SSA sebagai media selektif, KIA untuk melihat Gas dan H2S, MIU untuk meliat urea dan motilitas bakteri, serta pengecatan Gram untuk melihat Gram Negatip batang
