Abstract

History represents a set of facts from the past—events that were real and genuinely occurred in their time. Historical sources are crucial for reconstructing and generalizing history so that it can be comprehended by students. However, the limited availability of historical sources poses a significant challenge for students when learning history. This limitation can be addressed by utilizing museum websites as learning resources. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of museum websites as a learning resource for history education. Research and Development (R&D) methodology was employed in this study. The research sample consisted of 180 high school students selected from a population of 564 students in Pekanbaru City using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through observations, expert validation questionnaires, product trial questionnaires, and historical thinking skills tests. The collected data were analyzed quantitatively using t-tests to assess the impact of museum websites as a learning resource for students. The results indicated that the developed museum website was valid and reliable, and the t-test analysis showed a significant impact of the museum website as a history learning resource, with a significance value of 0.000 (less than 0.05).

Abstract

This research aims to develop a deep learning-based model to classify images of birds of paradise(Cendrawasih). Three different model architectures were employed in this study: Convolutional Neural Network (CNN),InceptionResNetV2, and MobileNetV2. The dataset consists of several species of birds of paradise, which wereprocessed using data augmentation techniques to enhance the variety and quality of the training data. The model trainingand evaluation processes were conducted using TensorFlow and Keras, with the application of callbacks such asEarlyStopping to prevent overfitting. Evaluation results indicate that the MobileNetV2 and InceptionResNetV2 modelsachieved the highest accuracy, with an average score above 90%. The system implementation involved developing a webapplication based on Flask and React JS to facilitate real-time image prediction. This study demonstrates theeffectiveness of using deep learning models for bird of paradise image classification and their potential for application inlimited computing environments.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the most important raw materials for beverages worldwide. Indonesia is one of the world's leading coffee producers and exporters, and coffee consumption is currently increasing. To maintain the taste of coffee, it is necessary to preserve the quality of coffee beans. The government has established the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 01-2907-2008 regarding coffee beans. The process of determining the quality of beans is carried out by processors who manually follow the steps outlined in the SNI. Therefore, to accelerate the quality determination process and provide knowledge to the general public, the author has developed a mobile-based coffee bean quality detection application to determine the grade of coffee beans using an Android platform. This application incorporates a machine learning model based on object detection. For the machine learning implementation, TensorFlow and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture are used. From the training data results, an average accuracy of 84% was achieved, indicating that the application generally detects correctly. Additionally, testing was conducted on several smartphones and at varying detection distances. The testing results showed that the optimal distance for detection is 15 cm to obtain accurate and detectable data. Furthermore, the smartphone with the best performance was the Smartphone A30, featuring a 16 MP resolution camera.

Abstract

Used cooking oil, or waste cooking oil, is the byproduct of repeatedly using cooking oil, which results in the formation of substances harmful to the body. Furthermore, improper waste cooking oil management poses a risk of environmental pollution. To address this issue, PT. Kilang Pertamina Internasional Refinery Unit II Dumai (PT. KPI RU II), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, initiated the "Sedekah Jelantah" program. This initiative involves the CSR division, several sub-districts in Dumai Timur, and the general public, aiming to raise awareness about environmental pollution and promote urban greening in Dumai. To support the program's implementation, a digital system is essential to efficiently manage the donation flow of waste cooking oil from upstream to downstream. Therefore, an integrated web and mobile-based information system, called Sistem Informasi Minyak Jelantah (SiMINAH), was developed using the Lean Software Development (LSD) methodology. Blackbox testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and usability testing were conducted to ensure the system's quality. The black box testing and UAT results revealed that 100% of the application functions performed well and met stakeholder expectations. The usability test showed 87.3%, indicating that the system is highly feasible and meets user needs. All users provided positive feedback on SiMINAH, noting that it simplifies waste cooking oil donations and enhances management processes for local sub-districts and the Dumai city CSR team.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of using augmented reality (AR) at Muara Takus Temple as a source of history learning for students' historical understanding. Experimental research methods were involved in this research. 88 secondary school students were used as samples. They were split into two groups, the experimental group and the control group, each of which had 44 randomly chosen participants. A history test and a questionnaire used for collecting data. Historical understanding data was analyzed using statistical analysis such as the t-test to compare differences between the experimental group and the control group. Data from the questionnaire was analyzed descriptively to identify user experience and satisfaction with the AR application. The computed t score of 6.21 is significantly higher than the 2.00 t table value. These findings indicate that the use of AR in history learning can increase student understanding and engagement. Apart from that, the use of AR also increases students' interest, motivation and interaction abilities and provides immersive experiences in history learning. This research confirms that AR has great potential to improve students' historical understanding while stimulating their interest, motivation, and interaction abilities in history subjects.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media based on Augmented Reality (AR) which helps students improve their reading skills in historical sources. This research uses the 4D research and development (R&D) method which consists of four stages, namely define, design, develop and disseminate. The sample of research subjects consisted of 3 material, media and language validator experts, 2 teachers, 60 and 120 class X students who assessed the practicality and effectiveness of the product being developed. Data was collected through expert validation, interviews with teachers, teacher and student response tests, and tests on students. while the N-Gain test is to evaluate media effectiveness. Expert validation results show that the criteria are very valid with an average score of 3.78. The teacher and student response test showed an average score of 3.90, which shows that AR media is practically used for learning history. The N-Gain Test score of 75% shows that students' ability to read historical sources is increasing. Therefore, using AR to develop historical source reading skills is feasible, practical, and useful.
