Abstract

In the period from March to April 2022, Kumparan and Tribunnews presented news regarding thefeud between Haris and Fatia and Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, regarding the issue of the miningbusiness in Intan Jaya Jaya, Papua. In their dispute, Haris and Fathia alleged that Luhut wasinvolved in the business, while Luhut said that the accusation was baseless and considered it a formof defamation. This study aims to find out how Kumparan and Tribunnews carry out framing, construction, and how the two media take sides, both for Haris and Fatia and for Luhut BinsarPandjaitan. This study uses the Framing analysis method proposed by Zhongdan Pan and Gerald M.Kosicki. The results of the study show that Kumparan constructed the news by giving theimpression that Polda Metro Jaya was on Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan's side. Kumparan also constructs news reports with a tendency to side with Haris and Fatia's camp, which can be seen from the selection of sources, most of whom are in their camp. Meanwhile, Tribunnews tends to be balanced in reporting, as evidenced by the selection and use of statements from sources that are balanced without taking sides with one side.

Abstract

Nyenyore is one of the broadcast programs on Radio Mandiri FM Cilegon. This program provides musical entertainment and information about community activities in the afternoon. However, this program is relatively new, this makes it difficult for Radio Mandiri FM to get listeners due to the decreasing intensity of conventional radio listeners and other private radio broadcasting institutions that have long broadcast primetime programs. To overcome this, proper management of radio broadcasting is needed so that the jam program can be packaged properly. This study uses a post-positivist paradigm through a qualitative approach using the case study method, because it will explore the performance of human resources in broadcasting management. This study uses interview data collection techniques, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate the stages of planning, organizing, directing and giving influence and supervision carried out by broadcasting management in managing the Nyenyore program.

Abstract

Recent data have shown that approximately 5.86% of 275.773 million of the Indonesian population are practicing open defecation. To align with the sustainable development goals (SDGs), efforts are being made to eradicate unhealthy lifestyle behaviors, including open dedication, by 2030. This achievement requires the intervention of both government and non-governmental organizations, as shown by LAZ HARFA in the Banten Province. The organizations successfully motivated impoverished citizens to construct proper sanitation facilities without subsidies. This study aimed to understand social construction of the impoverished community towards unsubsidized healthy latrines program implemented by LAZ HARFA in the Kertaraharja village, Pandeglang Regency, Banten. The analysis was carried out using a qualitative approach, by employing a purposive sampling technique to select informants based on their involvement in healthy latrines program. The total number of informants was 15, consisting of 8, 6, and 4 as key, main, and additional informants, respectively. The results showed that the community firmly believed in achieving unsubsidized healthy latrines program was possible, despite their impoverished conditions. This program was recognized as a step towards adopting a clean and healthy lifestyle. The community shifted the mindset from practicing open defecation to embracing a clean and healthy lifestyle through collaborative efforts, conducting transcheck walks, village mapping, and making commitments to participate in healthy latrines program. Furthermore, social interaction was fostered among the community through the purchase of materials for constructing latrines facilities and toiletries. LAZ HARFA also employed participatory development communication model that focused on provocation and simulation to evoke feelings of shame, disgust, and nausea. The community introduced economic empowerment and environmental quality enhancement programs to accelerate the progress of healthy latrines program.
