Abstract

In the rapidly evolving landscape of information technology, equipping students with practical and industry-relevant skills is essential before they transition into the workforce. This community service program was designed to conduct training initiative to strengthen students’ competencies in information system design. The objective of the program was to enhance participants’ ability to analyze user requirements, model system architectures, and implement structured system design methodologies. Throughout the training, students were introduced to core concepts of system designing such as Data Flow Diagrams, user interface wireframing, and tools related to it. In addition, students gained hands-on experience in using professional tools like draw.io and Figma, which are commonly utilized in system analysis and design processes in real-world IT projects. This training emphasizes the application of structured analysis techniques, logical data modeling, and fundamental software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles. By the end of the program, students demonstrated improved abilities to translate business requirements into technical specifications and were better prepared to engage in entry-level roles or further studies related to software engineering, business informatics, or systems analysis. The initiative highlights the importance of early exposure to system thinking and technical documentation in secondary vocational education, particularly for those pursuing a future in information systems development. The program not only expanded students’ technical knowledge but also encouraged analytical thinking and collaborative problem-solving, which are critical in the field of computer science and information systems

Abstract

The church news that is currently used is a media that is distributed to all church members on certain days only, namely Sundays. The needs of church members for the latest information and also in accelerating the process of managing documentation and giving donations or tithes to the church are also not available other than on Sundays. This study was conducted using the basis of the problems that have been reviewed by the researcher. Data collected from the church in the form of church news formats, forms that must be filled in by the congregation prove that there is no flexibility in the process or work system of disseminating information in the church. This study was conducted using the information system development method, namely waterfall. In the initial analysis, a SWOT analysis was also used to see how the system conditions occurred and then describe the flow of the system in an information system flow. Development was carried out using development tools such as unified modeling languages, programming languages, and other design tools as needed. The results of the study obtained were a system that could provide a media system in digital form or internet-based media that would be available at any time to all system users in the church. The results of this study provide features according to the needs of church members, such as church news features, congregation databases, donation or tithe features, and weekly news features.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi mobile memberikan peluang besar dalam digitalisasi proses pembelajaran dan evaluasi di lingkungan pendidikan. Artikel ini membahas perancangan sistem ujian berbasis mobile yang ditujukan untuk memfasilitasi pelaksanaan ujian sekolah secara efisien, fleksibel, dan aman melalui perangkat Android. Metode pengembangan yang digunakan adalah metode perancangan berbasis user experience mencakup tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi, pengujian, dan evaluasi. Aplikasi ini dirancang dengan mempertimbangkan kemudahan penggunaan bagi siswa serta kemudahan pengelolaan soal dan nilai oleh guru. Sistem dilengkapi dengan fitur autentikasi pengguna, pengacakan soal, pembatasan waktu, dan penilaian otomatis untuk jenis soal pilihan ganda. Pengujian dilakukan untuk memastikan fungsionalitas sistem, serta evaluasi untuk mengukur kenyamanan pengguna. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi dapat berjalan dengan baik pada berbagai perangkat Android dan masuk dalam kategori dapat diterima (acceptable). Sistem ini diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi alternatif dalam pelaksanaan ujian digital yang adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi mobile

Abstract

This research addresses the challenges of conventional facility reporting and inspection at PT Philips Industri Batam, characterized by slow data access, limited real-time monitoring, and hindered decision-making. The primary objective was to design and develop an E-Facility web application utilizing Laravel and Filament to digitalize facility management and provide real-time monitoring capabilities. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology , the study involved comprehensive analysis, system design (including UML modeling), implementation, and rigorous testing through Black Box and User Acceptance Testing. The research findings demonstrate significant improvements in operational productivity. Notably, login time reduced to 5 seconds, and data input time decreased from 1 minute to 10 seconds. Data accuracy significantly improved, with data availability transforming from hours of physical search to under 5 seconds. Furthermore, the system optimized resource utilization, leading to nearly zero paper usage for forms and reducing report generation time from hours to minutes. This indicates a potential 15-25% reduction in overall operational costs. In conclusion, the E-Facility application successfully digitalized the facility management process, offering an optimal, precise, and responsive solution in line with Industry 4.0 digitalization initiatives.
