Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of recruitment and work environment on employee performance at PT Mandom Indonesia Tbk. Quantitative approach is used with multiple linear regression analysis method to test the relationship between variables. The results showed that the resulting regression equation is Y = -0.549 + 0.083X1 + 0.934X2Y = -0.549 + 0.083 X_1 + 0.934 X_2Y = -0.549 + 0.083X1 + 0.934X2, where X1X_1X1 is recruitment and X2X_2X2 is the work environment. The simultaneous test (F test) shows the value of FcountF_(\text{count) Fcount of 26.497 which is greater than FtabelF_(\text{count) F tabel (3.195) with a probability of 0.000 (<0.05). This indicates that recruitment and work environment simultaneously have a significant influence on employee performance. A partial test (t test) shows that the recruitment variable has a t count value of 0.319, which is smaller than the t table (1.677) with a probability value of 0.751 (> 0.05). These results indicate that recruitment does not have a significant influence on employee performance. In contrast, the work environment variable has a t count value of 6.983, which is greater than the t table (-1.677) with a probability of 0.000 (<0.05), so it can be concluded that the work environment has a significant effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 50.9% indicates that recruitment and work environment together explain the variation in employee performance by 50.9%, while the other 49.1% is explained by other factors outside this study. This study makes an important contribution in understanding the factors that influence employee performance, especially in the context of manufacturing companies such as PT Mandom Indonesia Tbk.

Abstract

This study examines the determinants of saving behavior among Generation Z in Bekasi City, focusing on the influence of financial literacy and the mediating role of self-control. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 96 university students and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that financial literacy positively affects saving behavior both directly and indirectly via self-control, which partially mediates this relationship. Moreover, financial literacy significantly enhances self-control, and self-control itself strongly predicts saving behavior. These results underscore the importance of integrating behavioral components, such as self-control development, into financial education programs for young adults. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of how cognitive and psychological factors jointly influence financial decision-making in the digital age. Limitations include the cross-sectional design and limited geographic scope, suggesting future research to employ longitudinal methods and broader populations for generalizability.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of implicature in shaping the interpretation and emotional impact of song lyrics, with a focus on Sara Bareilles’ "She Used to Be Mine" and "Brave". The objectives are threefold: (1) to examine how implicature contributes to lyrical meaning and emotional resonance, (2) to identify instances of implicature within the lyrics, and (3) to analyze the relationship between linguistic expression and thematic message. Adopting a qualitative research design and a content analysis approach, the study draws on two primary theoretical references: Analyzing Meaning: An Introduction to Semantics and Pragmatics (Textbooks in Language Sciences 5) for implicature characterization, and Grice’s Logic and Conversation as the principal framework for categorizing implicatures. The analysis identifies four types of implicature—Conventional Implicature (CI), Generalized Conversational Implicature (GCI), Particularized Conversational Implicature (PCI), and Scalar Implicature (SI)—present in both songs. Findings reveal that "She Used to Be Mine" predominantly employs Conventional Implicature (78%) and Scalar Implicature (60%), aligning with its introspective and reflective tone. In contrast, "Brave" relies more heavily on Generalized Conversational Implicature (56%) and Particularized Conversational Implicature (63%), reinforcing its motivational and empowering message. These results highlight the nuanced role of implicature in shaping both the interpretive depth and emotional impact of musical discourse.
