Abstract

The study of religious moderation is still a widely discussed topic. The study of religious moderation emerges with moderate values as knowledge that does not contain violence, extremism, and false doctrine,ines of religion in society. However, amid the polemic of extremist ideologies, Islamic boarding schools come with a unique learning system. For example, learning Arabic in Islamic boarding schools can lead students to understand the meaning of moderation in society. The moderate values in the books and the slogans and mottos of the Islamic Boarding School are easily understood and implemented by the students daily. This paper aims to convey and reveal the values of religious moderation in Arabic language learning at Islamic Boarding Schools in Lampung. They are written qualitatively, analyzing several textbooks and slogans in Islamic boarding schools. Based on the results of the analysis of Arabic language learning, the meaning of moderation in Islamic boarding schools that are actively learned by students, such as nationalism, tolerance, tawazun, and fairness, are seen in students' learning and daily activities. The manifestation of moderation values shows that the Islamic Boarding School in Lampung has carried moderate values since its inception and can become an intermediary to maintain societal harmony.

Abstract

Today, every Muslim is expected to have a personality that can respond to the demands of religion in life. Because this ability can bring global goodness to humans. However, Muslims today are faced with a variety of causes that cause Muslim personalities to deviate and cases of behavior and this character deviation that needs to be addressed. The criminality that exists in society is certainly contrary to religious values to is commonplace and requires special attention in handling it. This article aims to convey Fakhruddīn al-Rāzī’s idea of reconstructing morals based on faith. Using the descriptive method of analysis, researchers analyzed data in the form of the concept of ‘aqīdah and morals from the perspective of Fakhruddīn al-Rāzī. Apart from that, it also discussed the concept of morals and its division, the process, and the role of morals in humans. So ‘aqīdah becomes the main basis of Muslims in determining their outlook on life in every thought, word, action, and produce commendable morals because these praiseworthy morals are proof of the primacy of human faith. ‘Aqīdah and morals have a close relationship which results in human deeds and actions. All of them will be commendable if there is continuity between nafs, ‘aql, spirit, and qalb in interpreting the human itself and the nature of the world. So, this is where the role of ‘aqīdah as a Muslim worldview in equalizing the goals of nafs, ‘aql, spirit, and qalb to achieve ḥaqīqī happiness, namely the return of humans to their Creator.

Abstract

This study discusses the sentence sanastadrijuhum in the Qur'an, which is known in society as istidraj. The purpose of this study is to reveal the meaning of istidraj according to the exegetes in a metaphorical and hermeneutic perspective. This study is qualitative and descriptive and uses a literature review method. The data collection technique used is the Mau?u'i method (thematic analysis), while data analysis is carried out using a hermeneutic approach. The main source of this study is the Qur'an al-Karim, with supporting references from various tafsir books that are relevant to the theme. The study results  show that, first, according to the exegetes, sanastadrijuhum is interpreted as a fall that occurs gradually and is almost imperceptible because it happens little by little. Allah SWT provides an opportunity to achieve a high position before being suddenly dropped. Second, metaphorically, istidraj has a satirical meaning, namely the postponement of punishment which is then given at once, both in the context of sin and goodness. Third, from a hermeneutic perspective, istidraj is a form of retribution that occurs through a certain process, either at a fast or slow tempo. This retribution is conveyed through various systematically arranged instruments, such as angels, humans, natural phenomena, or other events that appear natural.

Abstract

Wacana pendidikan anak saat ini masih menjadi topik yang ramai diperbincangkan. Salah satunya pendidikan anak berbasis gender. Sebagian cendikiawan menganggap mendidik anak dengan memisahkan gender antara laki-laki dan perempuan merupakan hal tidak adil sehingga menimbulkan diskriminasi perempuan didalamnya. Hal itu menyebabkan munculnya unsur ketidakadilan dalam perlakuan yang dinilai telah merugikan anak. Problem inilah yang menjadikan sebagian para cendikiawan untuk mengadakan penyetaraan gender antara laki-laki dan perempuan dalam pendidikan anak sejak dini. Tujuannya untuk mengurangi diskriminasi perempuan dan menjadikan kesetaraan pendidikan Sehingga lahirlah metode pengajaran yang menuntut untuk disamakan antara laki-laki dan perempuan dalam dunia pendidikan. Namun pada sisi lain, kesetaraan gender ini masih berbenturan dengan konsep fitrah. Dalam konsep fitrah, laki-laki dan perempuan memiliki peran yang berbeda. Perbedaan ini menghasilkan nilai dan hasil yang berbeda satu sama lain. Sehingga membutuhkan perlakuan yang berbeda dibeberapa aspek pendidikan. Diberbagai aspek, pendidikan anak berbasis gender ditetapkan sebagai elemen dasar yang membentuk karakter anak. Maka, dibutuhkan suatu bentuk metode pengajaran yang mengarah secara langsung pada pembentukan karakter tersebut.

Abstract

Discussions about tawhid have been controversial and debated by previous scholars. That is because some of them express God's Oneness using logic. However, Ibn Taymiyah tried to reform the nationalized tawhid based on the Qur'an and the Sunnah. And unequivocally criticize arguments that are not all with Islamic values. However, the renewal of Ibn Taymiyah's thinking was not immediately accepted by some scholars. Shaikh Taqiyuddin as-Subki, for example, judged ibn Taymiyah's reform discourse to be rigid and out of al-ittiba' and switched to al-ibtida'. Thus this discourse of renewal is an oddity carried out by Ibn Taymiyah. However, although it is considered strange, Ibn Taymiyah's thinking is considered more likely to be exclusive. So the study of religion makes Islam easy to understand by Modern Muslims. Including the concept of tawhid by classifying it into three parts. None other than that modern Muslims can understand tawhid universally and comprehensively. By studying some of Ibn Taymiyah's books and other supporters the author tried to explain the concept of tawhid and the discourse of renewal.
