Abstract

This Study aims to analyze the validity and effectiveness of ?inokreat? LKS based on inquiry on the impact of smoking on health. This research is designed as Research and Development (R & D) research consisting of 10 stages: potential and problem stage through questionnaire and interview method, data collection phase, LKS product design, LKS design validation by expert to test the validity of LKS, revision phase I, small scale in 10 random class VIII students, second phase revision, large-scale trial in one class VIII with 29 students to analyze the effectiveness of LKS on learning, product revision, and finished product. Expert judgment result on LKS "inokreat" based on inquiry on the impact of cigarette on health shows that LKS of valid development result is used in learning with percentage of material feasibility aspect 85% and media feasibility aspect 97,2% with criteria very feasible. The results of large-scale trials show that LKS "inokreat" is effective against students' learning outcomes with an average NGain score of 0.61 indicating an increase in learning outcomes from pretest to posttest in moderate categories. The average completeness of the classical students reached 89.65%. The average percentage of practicum skills was 88.5% and the presentation skills were 87.85% with very good category and the average of student discussion activity was 75.7% with the active category and the students' responses were 74.8% with the agreed category.

Abstract

Regression is a technique that can be used for response variables with one or more predictor variables. The purpose of this study is to model poverty in districts / cities in East Java 2015 with a spatial regression approach. In 2015, poverty in East Java has increased compared to the previous year. Therefore it is necessary to identify the factors that affect poverty. The variables used are the percentage of poor population as the response variable and the predictor variables include last elementary school education (X1), school participation rate 7-12 years (X2), informal sector workers (X3), open unemployment rate (X4), household using bamboo walls (X5), and household users of inadequate drinking water sources (X6). The result of this research is the best model to model the percentage of poor people is Spatial Error Model (SEM) with spatial weighting matrix Queen Contiguity and obtained AIC value 191,02 and R2 equal to 77,47%. Factors that have significant effect on the percentage of the poor are school enrollment (X2), informal sector workers (X3), household users of inadequate drinking water sources (X6) and there is an error dependency on one location to another.

Abstract

The English teaching and learning using modern and real-world experience learning models will provide important benefits related to written and spoken communication. The writing definition is a means of communicating a form of interpersonal as a writer shares his ideas and thinks with reviewers through textual mimicking. The approach of Project-based learning has been demonstrated to have the possibility to enhance students' thinking critically, how communication, and creatively in teamwork. This was study established to investigate the implementation of Project-based learning to improve students’ writing ability in congratulation cards. This study was conducted utilizing a method of quantitative connection with the design of quasi-experimental. Standards of design quasi is the study used two classes as the class of control and class of experiment. Class of control was learned using conventional learning and the experiment group was taught using Project-based Learning. The findings revealed that the students in the class of control had less enthusiasm for learning. The experiment class experienced in the classroom activity is intended to be highly involved. The students are more attracted to working in groups and interactive classes. The model of Project-based learning is suitable to apply in the classroom for teachers and students in writing class especially related to the congratulation card material. Project-based learning is a good choice if students need to group tasks, sharpen critical thinking skills, freedom to generate their ideas, and create a more active classroom atmosphere especially to improve their writing ability.
