Abstract

We report the supplementation of noni (Morinda citrifolia) to decrease blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus Brawijaya Hospital Surabaya, and noni problems whether supplementation is effective in reducing blood sugar levels in diabetes patients mellitus.The goal of this study was to determine the effectiveness of capsule morinda to decrease blood sugar levels in patients with Diabetes Mellitus in Brawijaya Hospital Surabaya. This type of research is to ekperimem quasi control group design with pre-test and post test. The population in this study are patients with diabetes mellitus in hospital outpatient Brawijaya. The sampling technique with a number of 60 people who were divided into 30 groups of control (can drug from a doctor) and 30 in the experimental group (can medicine from the doctor and consumption of noni capsules) .Instrumen this study is the laboratory results of random blood sugar levels with the tools glucometer ( gluko Dr). Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate (parametric test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test z and Independent T-Test). From the results, no significant difference the difference in the results of pre-test and post-test in the control group and the experiment is p = 0.020 (<0.05), then the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted (the results are meaningful). It is concluded that supplementation of noni effective in helping to decrease blood sugar levels of patients with diabetes mellitus, it is advisable to consume noni capsules and routine checks of blood sugar levels so that the blood sugar levels under control.

Abstract

Household waste in the form of fish waste, azolla pinnata, and banana peel waste is a waste that has not been utilized optimally. The potential waste can be utilized as a raw material of organic nutrients with macro elements more complete than an-organic nutrients. Giving various variations of organic liquid nutrients can be used to chili (Capsicum frutencens L.). This study aims to determine the effect of different variations of organic liquid nutrient on the quality of chili production (Capsicum frutencens L.). The type of this research is quantitative research with experimental method using Completely Randomized Design consisting of 3 treatments 6 replications, so that there are 18 experimental units adn placed randomly was fish waste 20% (N1), 20% Azolla Pinnata (N2), and banana peel waste 20% (N3). Observations were made on three parameters of production quality is colour, taste, and wet weight. Technical of data analysis using One-way ANOVA with significance level of 0,05. One-way ANOVA test results on the quality of chili production is P>0,05. One-way ANOVA test results showed no signification on the quality of chili production (Capsicum frutencens L.). Abstract

A study has been conducted to compare some varieties of planting media on red lettuce (Lactuca sativa var crispa L), the variables observed in this study are wet weight and chlorophyll content. This research was conducted by using complete randomized design (RAL) consisting of 5 variants of planting medium (Rockwool (as control), cocopeat, fuel husk, cotton and sponge) with 4 replications. The results showed that rockwool planting media had significant effect (P <0,05) on wet weight of red lettuce plant (Lactuca sativa var. Crispa L). Then, on the results of chlorophyll content test, it was found that the variation of burning husk medium media on red lettuce plant had significant effect (P <0,05) to chlorophyll a and total chlorophyll, while in chlorophyll b the result obtained was not significantly different (P> 0, 05). The results of this study indicate that the treatment of rockwool planting media in red lettuce plant growth is effective to increase wet weight and the treatment of burning husk medium media can increase the chlorophyll content of red lettuce plants namely chlorophyll a and total chlorophyll red lettuce plants (Lactuca sativa var. Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare the organic fertilizer of azolla pinnata and banana peel and a combination of azolla pinnata and banana peel with the same concentration of 800 ppm to the weight of harvest and the chlorophyll content of ground spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir.). The experiment was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design with control treatment, 800 ppm azolla pinnata, 800 ppm banana skin and a combination of azolla pinnata and banana peels 800 ppm which were repeated 6 times each. The application was carried out by pouring 800 ppm of azolla pinnata, 800 ppm of banana peel and a combination of azolla pinnata and 800 ppm banana peel on each gutter. The results showed that azolla pinnata and banana peel nutrition had a significant effect (P <0.05) on harvest weight and chlorophyll content of ground spinach plants (Ipomoea reptans Poir.). Nutrition azolla pinnata and banana peel with a concentration of 800 ppm can increase the weight of the land spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir.) Which has the highest average. In testing the chlorophyll content, the results of chlorophyll a content, chlorophyll b content and the highest total chlorophyll content was found in azolla pinnata 800 ppm nutrition. The results of this study concluded that 800 ppm azolla pinnata, 800 ppm banana peel and 800 ppm combination of azolla pinnata and banana peel in the growth of ground spinach plants (Ipomoea reptans Poir.) Were effective to increase harvest weight and increase chlorophyll content of land spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir.) Namely chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll of land spinach plants (Ipomoea reptans Poir.). Abstract

Ekstrak pakis adalah tanaman yang mengandung hormon giberelin. Zat pengatur tumbuh adalah hormon sintetis dari luar tubuh tanaman. Hormon giberelin mempunyai fungsi untuk merangsang perkecambahan, pertumbuhan akar, tunas daun dan menunda penuaan pada daun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak pakis sayur terhadap anatomi tanaman cabai rawit berupa kerapatan stomata dan indeks stomata.Penelitian ini dimulai pada bulan Maret-Mei di green house Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. Perlakuan ekstrak pakis sayur P0 (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (10%) dan P3 (15%). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 taraf perlakuan dan 6 kali ulangan. Pemberian ekstrak pakis pada tanaman cabai rawit diberikan pada umur tanam 1 bulan, selama 4 kali dengan pemberian 1 minggu sekali. Data hasil penelitian kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan spss 16.0 analisis varians satu arah. Data berpengaruh signifikan akan dilanjutkan uji lanjut yakni uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun pakis sayur menunjukan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) pada kerapatan somata dan indeks stomata daun cabai rawit. Hasil uji Duncan menunjukan bahwa perlakuan P3 (15%) berbeda nyata dibandingkan dengan perlakuan P0 (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (10%). Kata kunci: Ekstrak daun pakis sayur, indeks stomata, kerapatan stomata daun cabai rawit.

Abstract

Padi (Oryza sativa L.) merupakan makanan pokok sebagian masyarakat di Indonesia. Hambatan yang terjadi yaitu musim panen padi yang tidak sesuai harapan petani. Perbaikan sifat fisik dan kimia tanah untuk peningkatan produktivitas lahan kering dapat dilakukan diantaranya dengan penambahan bahan organik. Oleh karena itu, produktivitas padi harus ditingkatkan, salah satunya dengan aplikasi POC keong mas dan pklobutrazol. Tujuan penelitihan ini, yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh POC keong mas dan paklobutrazol terhadap pertumbuhan dan anatomi tanaman padi (Oryza sativa L.). Untuk menentukan berapa konsentrasi POC keong mas dan paklobutrazol yang efektif meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan anatomi padi (Oryza sativa L.). Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak kelompok lengkap (RAKL) pola faktorial, dengan 2 faktor perlakuan yaitu dosis POC keong mas dan paklobutrazol. Dosis pupuk organic cair terdiri atas 4 tingkat, yaitu: kontrol = 0ml/L (C0), 1 ml/L(C1), 1,5ml/L (C2), atau 2ml/L (C3). Aplikasi pupuk organik cair dilakukan pada saat tanaman padi berumur 4, 8 dan 12 minggu setelah pemindahan. Dosis pemberian paklobutrazol pada tanaman padi dengan 4 tingkat, yaitu: Perlakuan kontrol =  0 ppm paklobutrazol (P0), 5 ppm paklobutazol (P1), 10 ppm paklobutazol (P2), atau 15 ppm paklobutazol (P3). Analisis ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Software SPPS 21 pada  taraf 5%. Pemberian POC keong mas dan paklobutrazol memberikan pengaruh pada tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan umur keluarnya daun bendera pada tanaman padi Mapan P-05. Kata Kunci: Padi Mapan P-05; POC; keong mas; paklobutrazol; pertumbuhan

Abstract

Moon Orchid (Phalaenopsis sp.) is an ornamental plant that has attractive flowers and has economic value. Cultivation can be optimized by modifying the MS medium. The addition of natural growth regulators with the right concentration can support the success of tissue culture and can also reduce costs. This study aims to determine the addition of water hyacinth root extract in the first subculture stage of the moon orchid. This study used a factorial completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 6 replications, namely: MS0 (MS medium), MS1 (MS medium + 10% water hyacinth root extract), MS2 (MS media + 15% water hyacinth root extract), and MS3 (MS medium + 20% water hyacinth root extract). Observation variables included: number of leaves, number of roots, and plantlet height. The results showed that there was an interaction between MS media and the addition of water hyacinth root extract in the first subculture stage of the moon orchid on MS3 media (MS media + 20% water hyacinth root extract) indicating optimal results on the three parameters, namely: number of leaves 5, 2 strands, the number of roots 5.8 fruit, and plantlet height 2.3 cm.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the response of cayenne pepper plants to the treatment of paklobutrazole with various concentrations. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatment concentrations of paklobutrazole, namely: 0 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm, 400 ppm, and 500 ppm, with 4 repetitions. The parameters observed were: plant height, flowering time, and the number of flowers of chili plants. Data analysis used Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) according to the experimental design at a significance of 0.5. The follow-up test used the BNT test at a level of 0.05 if there was a significant effect. The results showed that the administration of paclobutrazole with a concentration of 500 ppm gave a better effect on plant height, flowering time, and number of leaves compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Buah rambutan merupakan buah yang seringkali diminati masyarakat, biji rambutan mengandung polifenol dan senyawa golongan flavonoid yang berhasil diisolasi dari ekstrak etanol biji rambutan. Senyawa fenolik yang terdapat dalam ekstrak biji rambutan merupakan senyawa yang berperan dalam aktivitas antioksidan dan antibakteri. Pembuatan emping dari biji rambutan dengan cara diambil biji buah rambutan dan dicuci, biji rambutan disangrai matang sampai kulit mengelupas kemudian ditumbuk hingga pipih dan halus sampai membentuk bulatan pipih kemudian biji rambutan di ditumbuk dan dijemur selama 2 hari di bawah panas matahari, digoreng untuk siap dinikmati. Hasil yang dicapai dapat memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat bahwa manfaat emping biji rambutan baik untuk dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan stik kangkung pada program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan oleh Program Studi Biologi bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pada guru dan siswa SMA Wijaya Putra Surabaya tentang aplikasi ilmu dan teknologi dalam menghasilkan stik yang berasal dari kangkung. Peserta berasal dari guru dan siswa SMA Wijaya Putra Surabaya. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini yaitu secara virtual dengan menggunakan platform virtual web conferencing. Berdasarkan penyampaian tentang kandungan dan manfaat kangkung, maka potensi kangkung dijadikan olahan stik sangat berguna agar masyarakat yang tidak suka mengkonsumsi sayur secara langsung dapat menjadikan stik kangkung sebagai alternatif. Selain itu, kejelasan narasumber dalam memberikan informasi memiliki persentase sebesar 81,3%. Poin selanjutnya yaitu persentase kejelasan gambar yang diterima mitra saat narasumber melakukan zoom cloud meeting sebesar 78,3% dan sebesar 31,7% mitra yang menyatakan kejelasan gambar yang kurang bagus. Hasil evaluasi setelah berlangsungnya kegiatan yaitu mitra akhirnya mengetahui kandungan dan manfaat kangkung serta olahan kangkung yang dapat menarik perhatian pembeli serta mengetahui tentang bagaimana teknik pengemasan dan pemberian label yang baik.
