Abstract

Settlement of the ground floor of stockpile is caused by ground pressure of coal pile which is bigger than stockpile floor bearing capacity leads to bury under of some coal. So it is needed to do a study of optimum capacity by stockpile floor bearing capacity. Study of stockpile optimum capacity is started by calculating Californian Bearing Ratio (CBR) of stockpile subgrade using dynamic cone penetrometer in some location on each of the stockpile compartment. CBR value of stockpile subgrade converted into bearing ratio, so the maximum tonage of stockpile can be known. By considerating of pile height, angle of repose of low grade coal, monthly production target, and the road geometry for mechanical equipment access purpose, the optimum capacity of PT Putra Muba Coal stockpile is 198.549,95 ton, which divided into seven coal piles.

Abstract

PT X is a company engaged in the limestone mining sector and simultaneously serves as a cement supplier. The company plans to transition from a three-shift work schedule to a two-shift system. This decision is driven by the increasing costs associated with mining, safety concerns, and time losses due to equipment maintenance, following various evaluations conducted by the company's management. This research aims to analyze the requirements for loading and transportation equipment necessary to achieve an annual production target of 4,500,000 tons after the implementation of the two-shift work schedule. The research methodology employed is quantitative, encompassing the collection of both primary and secondary data, as well as an analysis of equipment productivity. The findings indicate that to maintain the production target, it is essential to replace the current loading equipment from the CAT 988B wheel loader to the CAT 990H wheel loader. Additionally, adjustments to the number of equipment are required, including two units of the CAT 990H wheel loader and seven units of the CAT 773 dump truck for Crusher 1, as well as two units of the CAT 992K wheel loader and eight units of the CAT 777D dump truck for Crusher 2. The production capacity of this equipment configuration reaches 4,575,457 tons per year, demonstrating that the production target can be optimally met despite the reduction in the number of work shifts.

Abstract

Kegiatan penambangan terbuka di Pit “Athran”, Kalimantan Timur, menghasilkan material buangan dalam jumlah besar sehingga memerlukan desain out pit dump (OPD) yang stabil dan aman. Variasi litologi Formasi Warukin dan Formasi Dahor yang terdiri dari batupasir, batulempung, batubara, serta material lepas memengaruhi perilaku geoteknik dan potensi ketidakstabilan lereng. Penelitian ini menganalisis kestabilan lereng OPD S2 menggunakan metode Janbu sebagai pendekatan utama karena sesuai untuk material non-kohesif dan heterogen. Beberapa skenario desain diuji melalui pemodelan numerik dengan mempertimbangkan kondisi air tanah, beban lalu lintas alat berat, serta variasi elevasi dan jenis material timbunan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan variasi nilai faktor keamanan (FK), mulai dari kondisi kritis (FK 1,161), nearly stable (FK 1,220), hingga sangat stabil (FK 1,48). Desain paling aman dicapai pada konfigurasi 3 bench dengan ketinggian maksimal 30 m, penggunaan material lebih kompak pada toe, serta penghindaran water ponding. Rekomendasi ini menjadi acuan teknis untuk meningkatkan keselamatan dan efisiensi operasi penimbunan di OPD S2 Pit “Athran”.
